Where do you get the models?

In the end it was a German Victory! With the Soviets surrounded, they are now eliminated from the Second World War. The Germans suffered acceptable casualties. There is only one more battle to play before the end of 1942!

1942 is over!
-The German Third army took the Soviet Union with minimal casualties.
-The Italian army destroyed and took the Soviets out of the war in the Balkans with acceptable casualties.
-The British First and Second Army inflicted heavy casualties upon the German First Army's invasion of Britain with ease.
-The French army defeated the German Second Army's invasion of Spain with both suffering acceptable casualties.


BEGINNING OF 1943 (4rth turn, the allies now get to go first!)
-The British First Army is invading the neutral Netherlands in order to gain an extra foot hold of Europe and deny the Germans their objective.
-The British Second Army and French are attacking the German First and Second in France. Will this be the liberation of France?
-The Italian army has raced over to Italy to prepare for the oncoming attack.
-The German Third army does the same, hoping to reach German in time now that the eastern front is won.


Wow, its all turned into a 1 front war now! Hope you guys enjoyed it.

Well the British took Holland very easily but the battle for France was won by the Germans with both sides suffering heavy casualties.

Its looking very grim for the allies.... the only glimmer of hope is Britain's new ground taken on the continent that threatens Germany itself.

If I may, that looks rather grim for the Germans IMO. The allies can just mob France with everything they've got, and then mop up the others.

Very cool! I've wanted to get my gaming friends into ww2 for a while now. What rules set are you using?

@ Telchar, that is very true, although with the Germans and Italians returning to the western front from the russian and african front it's pretty equal strength.

@kidterminal, thanks! The rules have been made up by me and my friend. It is over 2 years old now and is pretty balanced now, we've expanded the games to accompany planes recently. It is a 'you move a squad' 'i move a squad' type game, with elements inspired by 40k rules, flames of war and rapid fire plus our own touch.

OK 1944 is finished. The German Third Army failed to take Scandinavia but prevented the Allies from retaking France. Here are some nice pictures of the campaign. It turns out that even if the Allies win all the battles on the last turn in 1945 they still will not have enough victory points to win. But we will still have 1 massive battle just for fun with lots of good photos to end the European campaign with some nice fluff and alternative history written up. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

And here is a sneak peak of some Japanese for the upcoming Pacific theatre as that map is almost complete.

After 6 years of bloody fighting, the war in Europe has finally come to an end. And this is what the war looks like now at the end of 1945.

The Axis obtained 4 of their objectives while the allies achieved 0, it is an outstanding victory for the German and Italian armies. In this alternate history, the Soviet Union fell to the combined efforts of the Fascist nations while Italian armies charged the British out of Egypt. The French lost their homeland but were able to form a very strong defence in Spain. The British successfully defended their homelands and surrounded Germany with their armies in the Netherlands and Scandinavia. Turkey was the only country in Europe to avoid all combat and remain neutral.
In the post-war meetings, due to British pressure on German ports, France was allowed to return back to their homeland but with a heavy price. The British and the French would loose most of their African Empires to Italy and Germany would emerge as the superpower of the world due to it's take over of the USSR.
Will the Pacific theatre of war emerge into another Axis victory? Stay tuned to find out. This is the pacific board all painted up, I only need to make the army counters.

I can't wait for the Pacific. What figures will you be for the Chinese using? Will you have a Red Chinese faction?

Unfortunately I don't posses chinese figures at the moment, so I will have to use other models to substitute for them, but I am on the lookout for Chinese models. I don't think I will have a Red chinese faction as WW2 represented a period of brief co-operation between the communists and the nationalists.

The Pacific War has started!





Two Japanese armies attack the Americans in the Philippines while another Japanese army attacks the British in the Solomon Islands. In response, the British attack the Dutch East Indies in order to establish a route to regain control of the Solomon Islands if they lose it. The Soviets are not able to move due to their commitments in the West.

Why are the Dutch not simply "in it" with the allies?

Thanks! Its because the Dutch remained very firmly neutral at the beginning of the war. They didn't allow allied troops to enter their borders until the Germans invaded.

By the time Japan even thought about going to war, the Dutch were already firmly on the allied side, and the Dutch fleet constituted the largest part (and supplied the commander) of the combined allied fleet after Pearl Harbor and the sinking of the Prince and Repulse, up until that fleet was sunk as well in the Java Sea. Yes, I'm Dutch .

@Telchar, you're right, but this is supposed to be an alternative set of history. I have not yet connected the Pacific and Europe/North African campaigns yet, so I'm just going to take the position that the Dutch had in 1939/37.

So in reality, the Dutch (and her colonies) joined the allies after being attacked by Germany. But in this alternative history pacific campaign we're assuming that the Germans have not attacked the Dutch and so they will remain neutral.

Also what's happened in this alternative set of history, is that the Dutch want to remain outside of the squabbles of other empires while the British want to use the Dutch-Indies as a military base which the Dutch consider violating their sovereignty. We have not yet played out this battle, however the Americans did lose the Philippines after being outnumbered and attacked by two Japanese armies. I haven't taken pictures from this battle yet, but I hope to play another battle on Friday where we should have some pictures.

Ah, I see. In alternate history, you can of course do what you want, and this sounds like a reasonable proposition.

If a neutral wins the "battle for survival" that follows invasion, does it join the other side or remain neutral?
