Why does it have to be a church (forgive me if there's something glaringly obviously denoting it as such, like a "worshippers wanted!" sign over the door - the picture's down) besides you having said as much? Surely it could just be a similar building.

Actaully, Numenor was considered the Free Peoples and they worshipped Eru, although they only had 1 temple of sorts. It's definitely possible that Gondor or the elves would have some place to offer prayers to Eru. Not to mention that the less "godly" kings of Gondor pretty much worshipped themselves. I didn't see the picture, but I bet it could definitely pass for a building in Middle-Earth.

@Drumstick - Your entry to me would look perfectly at home in Osgiliath and Minas Tirith which is why I okay'd it in the first place.

PM sent.

Hi everybody. After some weeks off I'm here again. I started two weeks ago a house, I didn't remember the Terrain Challenge, but today I remembered it, so I would like to join the adventure with my house.
I must say that I have a little problem... The house is 30x18 cms, it's a little bigger than the 18inch square. My house is 23inch square approximately, so I ask if I can participate in the Terrain Challenge.

Here the first photo.

Karavatis - the entry is larger than the size specified but on this occasion i will allow it. Its looks great so far and i look forward to seeing it finished.

Come on guys lets see some more entries here.

@Drumstick - I'm still not seeing your entry here. Don't make me find the pictures in your WIP and submit them myself

1st of all, there is no way that's a church, it's a cathedral! Anyway, it definitely looks like something that would fit into LotR.

As I said in Drum's thread, the Cathedral doesn't actually have to be a 'Cathedral', it could be a grand looking library instead or a communal building of some kind. Paint it a white colour/put a few banners on it and it'll look the part anyway.

Besides, isn't the point of this to be creative?

Unless you paint it in some odd colour, it can easilly pass for some building in Minas Tirith, Osgiliath. Some elements might not be from there but there are other places, like Arnor, that might have the same sort of look in my opinion.

Just dont call it church or cathedral and its fine. And it looks great! Cant wait to see it painted.

I also dont see any problems accepting karavatis building. The 9x9 inches was more of a guideline that strict limits. 9 inches is ~23cm, so 30 is a few cm over, but 18 is a few centimetres shy. So its really just a couple centimetres of difference in total. Perfectly acceptable by what I read from the rules.

@karavatis: The house is coming along nicely, btw. I'm guessing its something from Bree. What are you using to texture the walls? Looks like some sort of soaked paper, maybe with pva? What is it?

Hi.
The texture is made with water close paper with white glue and water, only.
Very nice the cathedral-library.

I am sorry to say that I won't be able to complete a project for this challenge. Life is in the way for now. Maybe next time

That is a shame OMW , I was looking forward to seeing a piece from yourself. No matter as you say there will be plenty of terrain challenges to come. Hope all is well.

I'm going to have to withdraw from this Challenge; I've been overly ambitious with the painting challenge and won't be able to give the hobbit holes the time they deserve. Hopefully I'll get onto them soon!

A week left to go until the challenge ends guys.

Just a heads up i haven't put a vote up to decide what the dec/jan challenge will be as i thought we'd go with the broad subject of "the hobbit" no size restrictions.

Well I see no point in put up a voting thread as we have only the one completed entry. Well done Drum your entry is fantastic.
