Superbly painted minis! But I agree that the banner does let them down a bit. Not because of the paintjob, which is fine, but because it appears so static and lacks movement. Can you not put a few more twists and turns in it somehow, or will that crack the paint?

Great work! I feel your pain over your warband - painting Rohirrim feels quite sould destroying at times! Good luck though, I am looking forward to seeing the results.

Is this real life? I was rushing my uruk hai warband for the competition but after seeing this and MMS' entries I decided to give up. A premium standard of painting that only few can match. Well done on a magnificent effort, and all the best in the voting! It will be tough to decide

Seeing those Guards in all their glory makes me regret starting a Gondor army.
Really impressive and colorful.

I won't repeat what I said in the voting thread, but basically this. So professional looking!

Whazzzzup everybody? I now present Eowyn mtd for your eyes. I think i have to re-paint the face is its too dark and i dont like it but other than taht its a cool model which i enjoyed painting. Cut her hand and swapped her spear for a sword and stuck a shield on the side of her horse.

Looks like she is about to lop off an Orcs head - yeah! 8)

She looks great! Your changes were well executed and because of that I like this one better than the original one. It looks like the model is moving more. Good job, but indeed I think the face looks too dark. Just paint her face again and she'll be beautiful

Thanks for all the comments. Did my mounted Outriders. Bit miffed GW sent me two of the same poses but oh well.

I have done a group shot of my 700pt army. It looks so small :( . Bad news i have decided to expand to 1000pts. More painting required - Sons of Eorl, Mtd Royal Guard, ft Royal Guard and Eomer ft and mtd.

Sorry about more boring Rohan shots. Another five RRG dismounts done, a rider and two outriders on foot done.

Thanks for the comments and looking. Until the next time :)

These are awesome; exactly what I hope to be able to do with mine at some stage.
Exactly which colours have you used for the brown leathers and tunics?

They are scorched brown with a badab black wash, highlights are bestial brown and snakebite leather with a watered down wash of delvin mud. Cloaks are dark angels green followed by a snot green layer then a wash of delvin mud. Thanks and glad you guys like them :)

Tunics are a red gore then a layer of blood red followed by a delvin mud wash then a baal red wash.

More of those amazing Royal Guards. There must almost be more of them than ordinary warriors by now.
