That's a horrible reason, if true. So now we can't get mounted versions of several characters from them. Aragorn and Gandalf the Grey were dropped as well.

Just an update on my issue: I emailed GW's customer service and told them about my experience with the Great Beast. I got a quick email back saying they were sorry and would sort it out. About a week afterwards, I got a phone call and the guy told me that he had several still sealed Great Beasts and would check which ones were the best and send me one of those, along with some liquid green stuff to fix it up properly. At last, I got the replacement just recently and while not perfect it IS far superior to my original one.

All in all, great customer service from GW and by the sounds of it they are destroying most of the faulty product.

They didn't replace mine; they sent me another one! I have two now, although the first one is still buggered up quite badly.

Yeah, I can't complain at all. I do feel a little bad, considering they sent me some free liquid gs to fix the first one. I think they'll be my next project!

You could convert it to a dead Beast. That would make some cool scenery.

Had a chat with my local yesterday- staff were asked to remove certain finecast products as they didn't meet quality standards. The issues had now been addressed but older stock needed to be removed to be replaced by the new fixed castings.
The Beast was one of these being removed.

I kinda mis-read your post, I thought you were feeling badly that they sent you free liquid gs to fix it with....Not that they replaced the one missing a bunch of parts! :lol:

(Which they should have replaced, if you're going to buy something, you should get everything that they say you will. I also think that it's good that you can keep the bad one too, becuase finecast cannot be 'melted' back down and re-used (iirc). Them giving you some free gs was nice though, I haven't heard of that before.)

I wouldn't call it a "risk" really. If you get a sub-par GBoG they will definitely replace it. When I emailed them, they sent me one that they cleaned of all mold lines, etc along with a free bottle of liquid GS. They didn't even ask for my old one back!

Am I glad I gave this a miss. Far too much hassle involved judging by the horror stories above. But it worries me that GW will need to get their act together pronto in respect of one extremely large winged character from a certain movie...

I'm hoping and praying that The Tremendous One will be in plastic. Not that it would have much impact on the price, of course. I'm just loathe to work with finecast any more than I have to (and that's even after my good experience with GW customer service!)
