Thanks guys. I never think the bases look all that great in the photos but they look like a big improvement on the green bases even more in the flesh.

Finally done with the hobbits, I originally intended to paint the eyes but I tried it on Frodo and thought they looked a bit too wide so decided against it with the others.

Currently painting Boromir in between basing the models I've cleaned up.

Thanks a lot everyone, I'm starting to get a bit better at this now that I'm painting semi regularly again. My latest effort is Boromir. Attempted to add some dirt to the lower reaches of the coat. Its pretty faint, but then again perhaps it works better that way.

Continuing on the Fellowship theme, I'm now working on the Fellowship version of Aragorn.

Nice painting IMO, I like the dusty effect on his robes. And the red/yellow design sleeves 8)

Thanks all. Aragorn is basically finished (couple of areas need touching up at a later date). I've bought a tiny brush with a view to painting eyes but I've decided to wait until I've tried it out on a model with larger eyes like Gollum or Durburz first to try to ease myself into it (perhaps I will paint Gollum once I've completed the fellowship).

Up next Gandalf the Grey. I prefer the Fellowship pose but seeing as I don't own that one it will be the BGIME pose.

Thank You. Now for a pose of Gandalf that I don't particularly like (although I like it a bit better now with the improved paint job).

Nice painting, on Gandy and on Arry. 8)

Did you use the textured paint on the bases?

Thanks and no I didn't actually its just GW's modelling sand with a generous layer of PVA glue over the top. In fact I'm a bit apprehensive about buying the new textured paints, even though they might look better than what I'm doing at the moment.
