All comes to those who wait. I wouldn't say no to a date with that elf lady. My kind of gal.

I like the design of the goblins - more like I imagined them when I read the book as a child. The big question from the article is "who is Fimbul the hunter?"

I don't think my budget will stretch to a replia of Bilbo's contract or Dwalin's axes. I might need to snap up some of the other maps though. Come on GW, I'll be broke before your Hobbit stuff comes out!

So Evangeline Lilly is an elf maid. She was in Lost with Dominic Monaghan (Merry). Now I definitely must see this movie - she's even hotter than Rosie Cotton!

So strange to see Tauriel. This is gonna sound retarded, but she doesn't look like Evangeline at all. It's up to you guys to decide whether that's a good or a bad thing. ;)

(In Joker voice in response to those prices) WHY SO EXPENSIVE? WHY SO EXPENSIVE?

I agree, I hardly recognise her. But she still looks awesome. :D

For me the GG depends on his size. If he truly gets as big as a cave troll (as rumour has it), I'll do nothing but hate on him for weeks after I've seen the film. If he's just a really fat gobbo, he's fine with me.

The Great Goblin is the massive thing that lands on the dwarves at the end of the second trailer just after Jimmy Nesbit says 'Well that could have been worse'. Then CRASH! And he says 'You have GOT to be joking!' in a very strained voice...

Comparing him to Thorin (the toy version) he looks to be at least 7 feet tall, maybe 8, so not quite troll size, but pretty close.

I collected the ToyBiz action figures of Lotr. Not sure about this new set, it's hard to judge the quality just by looking at the pictures.

I do hope that the GG is not so "great" that he doesn't even resemble an oversized goblin any more (keeping in mind that the Goblins in Hobbit may well be more like the Mordor Orcs we see in the LotR filims). Now...we do see people in our real world that are significantly larger than the standard man (Andre the Giant, for example). But you're still looking at a reasonable size difference...not 2x.

I do love Weta's stuff...some of it thankfully is within reach of mortals (the map replicas for example). I am going to have to hold off to see if they produce mini-weapon sets though like were done for LotR. Can't afford to deck the halls with full sized blades sadly.
