Martinusv and I battle regularly, and I've always wanted to make a battle report.
It was a pretty short game and almost not worthy to report about. But since its a first try, let's give it a go.

Reaching the Eastgate

Objectives:
Balin and at least four dwarves must reach the eastgate.

Special rule:
One of the two Goblin warbands start at the eastgate as reinforcements. When a member of the Goblins reaches the gate the alarm has been sounded, on a 4+ per subsequent turn per model it may enter.

Dwarves Martinus
Balin
8x Dwarf warrior with shield
2x Khazad Guard
2x Iron Guard

Moria Bartelomeus

Goblin Captain shield
1x Gundabad spear
2x Gundabad shield
4x Goblin warrior spear
4x Goblin warrior sword

Goblin Captain shield (reinforcements)
2x Gundabad shield
4x Goblin warrior spear
4x Goblin warrior sword

The board

One goblin hurries to raise the alarm, one is sent on a suicide mission to slow Balins crew down and the rest split up to take on the dwarves on the side.
Balins crew, just like the dwarves on the side, take the shortest possible route to the Eastgate.
For the dwarves on the side fighting the approaching Goblins is inevitable.

The Dwarf warriors on the sides fall quickly to the Goblins but bought time for Balin to approach the Eastgate.
It comes down to whether Balin’s elite crew is able to fight through the goblins before too much reinforcements arrive.

Half of the reinforcements arrive and the Goblins only need to kill three more dwarves.
The Dwarves are within reach of the Eastgate but have to plough through a decent amount of Goblins to reach it, this doesn’t look good.

The just arrived Goblin captain throws himself in front of Balin to buy time for his comrades to kill some easier targets.
The captain wins the fight and rolls three dice to wound due to the aid of a spearman.
Three sixes! That kills Balin outright, the game is over!

This really was a strange game, the Goblins didn't have trouble cutting down those heavily armoured Dwarves at all.
In return the Dwarves did little damage to the Goblins.

At the climax of the game, once Balin arrived at the Eastgate... he got killed instantly and the game suddenly was over.
Lucky dicerolls on my side controlled the game, hopefully next game will go down a bit more evenly :P

Until next time!

What program did you use to present the battle?

Photoshop :P

I like making battle rep's, next time I'll make sure to post actual pictures of the game.
The process of making pics and noting what happened when makes the battle a lot less fluent though.
