Here is the first of my models for the September Painting Challenge, a Mordor Troll Chieftain. I found it quite hard to get a good picture of the armour, and the torso as his arm blocks the view and light.

I agree with Mr Baggins, great work on that Troll. Nice dark evil colour scheme, and nice of you to work red (Sauron's signature colour after black) onto him to. Is he metal or FC by the way, when painted I can never tell the difference?

The Troll is just great, I must say. How much better is it to paint than the plastic Mordor Troll?

My first four Mordor Orcs for the Painting Challenge. Not the best lighting in these pictures, but you get the idea.

looking sweet make, nice conversions. Am I right in thinking the light is coming from the right hand side in these pictures? Maybe try taking them with the light behind you, thats how I tend to get best results.

Nice Orc conversions. I have used the exact same one as the one in the top left. (well actually i converte two the same)

And as ever, I like your dark colour scheme, proper evil I say. My sister thinks they should be brighter, but I disagree,. 8)

Thanks Bilbo :D Most of my Orcs are converted, which makes them slightly more bearable to paint (I hate the things :o)

I hear ya...the plastic orcs are as lifeless a model as they come, but when you do something different to them it gets you excited to paint them up. :)

These Orcs took me about a week - and there's four of them :( I really hope GW releases new Orcs, even converted I didn't enjoy painting them much. The next four I think I'm just going to have to get over and done with as fast as I can.

Here is my second batch of Mordor Orcs for the Painting Challenge. Thankfully, these went a lot quicker than the first set. I still need to paint two Mordor Trolls and an Orc Banner, so look out for them! These four (and the first four as well now) all have the red eye somewhere on them.
