The black cloakd with dark blue or dark blue/gray would tie them in a little with your Rivendell force while maintaining a look that will go well with the Rangers. You have shown terrific instinct on your color selection...honestly I think the best advise is to set them aside until you get your inspiration and then go with it (maybe try it out on a spare warrior ranger/wood elf or similar if you want a proof of concept).

I tend towards beowulf with the cloak, the blue/grey cloak would suit them well, and, being similar to the colour of the armourd high elves' cloaks, helps them fit in more, and, being 'elven cloaks' would help with that aspect of their wargear too.

Wow I love the twins yet already! Maybe it's just because I've always loved them, but I look forward to seeing what colours you'll use for them

Thanks for the input on colours - this was quite a hard one to follow through with.

UPDATE:

First off, Glorfindel. I'm still not happy with his hair, and will probably redo it at a later date when I get some more paints - but it'll do for now.

And now the twins. I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out - the cloak looks black without looking flat. You can't see it in the photos (except on the rightmost part of the right twin) but the inner cloak has a goldy tint to it. The idea was that being Elf princes, they'd have some expensive garments. I'm still unsure about it, and might just go over it with red again (and perhaps a gold border) but it looks pretty decent.

WOW, these all came out great!!

The color scheme on the twins is really well done and very unique (I love when people think outside the box and go with other colors than what is shown by GW), love the look of them! The Glorfindel is another excellent model! And the hair color looks great, but if you aren't happy you could try a lighter color...I used a mix of Kommando Khaki and Sunburst Yellow (something like 90/10 or 95/5 ratio) as I wanted to have his hair be as different as possible from my other elves.
Again excellent job on all three and I cannot stop staring at that Glorfindel!!

I'm pleased with them. I think I like the gold tint too, but I also think I lack the skill to pull it off - I'll try take another picture later to show you what I mean.

I hated the GW colour scheme too, and I'm happy I finally settled on one. Glorfindel, yes, is one of my best to date.

Lovely painting on Glorfindel but that was to be expected from you now. The twins on the other hand shows us how deep your talent runs. These are a stark contrast to what we usually see from you with their dark colours and no gold armour. I like what you've done with them and think they are going to look well at home in the company of the rangers. Well done K keep them comin!

Very good, as much as it pains me to like Elves, you've done a great job, and it looks really good, the cloaks really finish the monkey twins. And Glorfy looks very good too. A riund of applause:
