So some of you may have seen the elves I've been working on over on TLA. For those that haven't, I thought I'd post them here, because apparently they're not too bad.

So I just finished up some Elves - what do you think?

First miniatures I've painted for a good few years! Excuse the rather poor basing, I'm a little out of practice.

I'm really pleased with the way the armour turned out - I managed to get the subtle green hue without it being overpowering.

I'm also quite happy with the way the Elven cloaks turned out - I tried to get them to look like the movie ones, and by adding in small amounts of metallics in each highlight, it gave it that silky look.

I'll add finally that this was my first foray into Vallejo Game Colour paints - the only GW one I used was Burnished Gold, as I particularly like that colour. I'd definitely recommend them as an alternative - Wayland games offers them for under £2 a go, and they come in a cool little dropper bottle, great for mixing colours to make highlights.

I'm hoping to paint up two full warbands of High Elf Spearmen in the next month or so - now I have a paint scheme I like, hopefully they shouldn't take too long!

Bah. I'm a really modest person.

I'm looking forward to having a go at the Elf Command, I expect I'll spend a good few hours on the banner. Did you paint your banners with a paintbrush or one of those silicon tools?

paintbrush all the way - I'm just in the process of repainting my high elf banners, well there next on the list once I get through this Orc marathon.

So, I got started on some more spearmen that DMS sent me in a trade. Got the armour done so far, I think one or two could do with going over with highlights again, but they're looking good.

They look great, the armor is amazing. These are some of my favorite mini's from GW, and your doing a very good job on them. I'm looking forward to seeing them finished.
