I agree - I think the shading on the cloak is great. Good work.

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments, much appreciated :) I'm having a bit of bother with photobucket at the minute, but hopefully I'll have another couple of pictures up soon

Ok, took way longer than it should have done, but finally got the pictures uploaded to photobucket. I think my internet is a bit congested  anyway, a quick edit of the photos, and here they are :)

Again, they're not the best photos, but right now I'm not bothered trying to do a load of editing :? As you can see, the jacket, waistcoat and trousers are now also done :) Very happy with them too, I'm actually delighted with how this model is turning out, and it's so much fun to be painting again :-D I should have Frodo done in the next few days :)

Comments welcomed :)

Well, Frodo is done :) The first member of my Moria themed Fellowship :frodo:

Overall, I'm very happy with him :) It was my first attempt at OSL, and at the minute my feelings are kind of 'I love it, wait no I hate it...no I love it..etc'. So I'm hoping it'll grow on me :) Oh well, I'm still happy with the overall model :) It was a joy to paint, and I'm looking forward to doing the rest of them :)

Thanks for the comments and encouragement :)

Thanks guys! Much appreciated! I'm beginning to get to the 'I love it' stage with the OSL, and your praise certainly helps :) I've decided now that I did Frodo, I might as well continue with my Moria themed Fellowship. When I have them all painted I hope to make a little display base for them all :) So next up is another of the hobbits :) (not sure which yet though..)

Thanks again for all the encouragement :) It certainly means a lot coming from all the fantastic painters on here :)

Hey all, here's my progress on Sam :)

Image

Image

I'm very happy with how he's progressing, his left eye could be better, but I'm not going back and trying to redo it now :) Not too much left to do on him, so he should be finished soon :)

Thanks for all the comments :)

Very good job on both the minis!

I'm painting sam myself atm, are those "things" on his feet are supposed to be hair?
Hairy little hobbitses :sam:

Sam is finished! :D Very happy with him, I like the colours and the highlighting :) Again, I'm not a world class photographer, but they're good enough for me :)

And here's Sam and Frodo :)

Two hobbits down, two more to go :) And then the rest of the Fellowship

Yes they are :) Some of the sculpting on these MoM models isn't the best, but a decent paint job can still make them look good :) I hope I've achieved that

Even the metal ones don't have the best sculpt, especially on that feet part..
You surely made them look way better than just good, keep it up! :yay:

Thanks for the compliments everyone 8)

Pippin is finished, my quickest one so far, started and finished within two days :) The shot of him from the back came out a bit weird, but it does look better first-hand :)

Also, this was the first cloak that the last layer was a wash, because my highlighting was too pink :o I'll have to try another highlighting method next time I do red :) I usually just mix bleached bone or skull white with the base colour, but I'll have to think of something else :?

Next up is Merry :D
