Hey, I don't suppose anyone knows of any good painting guides for berserkers? If you could reply with a link or advice that would be much appreciated as I can't seem to find either anywhere!

I don't have an internet guide, but I can tell you what I did to them:

Skin-Dark Flesh
Armour and sword - Adeptus Battlegrey
Cloth - Scorched Brown

And a Devlan Mud wash. Highlight to taste.

I thought berserkers are usually portrayed with red skin..? Still, it's given me rough idea! So thank you!

Dark Flesh is a brown with a bit of a reddish hue and is what I use on my own Uruks :)

I've only got 1 berzerker but i painted him as follows:

skin - scab red (highlight Mechrite red)
armour - boltgun metal (highlight - chainmail)
cloth - scorched brown ( highligh - dark flesh)
sword - chainmail (highlight - mithril silver)
wash - devlan mud or badab black

this is in no way the way to paint one just a suggestion
paint him however you like 8)

Okay thanks a lot everyone! I've finished them now, is it worth me uploading them to the gallery for you to have a look? I'm quite happy with how they turned out!

The red that you see on them is blood. A liberal dry brushing of red looks pretty good on them, especially if you aren't a particularily good painter, like me.

mmm..
very nice 8)
I especially like the swords
IMO they could do with a slightly heavier wash but thats just personal preference

whats that stuff on the base?

Thanks! The green stuff is like this grass basing stuff, I got it in a model shop ages ago and I can't remember it's proper name! Same for the lichen type thing I used as a small bush! Then, pebbles from my garden which was probably self-explanatory xD

They look good! Perhaps a black wash would give them just a bit more definition, but I think you got the skin tone just right!

I did think about doing the wash, but I didn't want to risk it, incase the skin went too dark! Might add some white hands, not sure where to put them though!

When painting my feral uruk hai I gave them a red fleshy colour. Mixing a tiny bit of red with Tanned flesh, dwarf flesh and elf flesh gives off a realistic look IMO.

I put them on the helmet. If I were an orc servant, I wouldn't want to come close enough to a huge, blood-crazed warrior to paint a nice white hand on his chest, but to paint one on a harmless piece of metal...

Hey there people, I just found a pretty good article on Uruk-hai berserkers in a Spanish hobby website.

http://www.laguerradelanillo.com/content/view/569/39/

They have quite a large collection of articles covering all the aspects of the hobby, but if you suffer with the language, don't hesitate to contact me.

It will be worth your while to check it out.
