And I recognize the original cardstock building, too--it came in that old Warhammer campaign boxed set, Grudge of Drong! :)

I have the other three boxed sets from that addition too. I don't like the card stock in the others as much. I am going to build the Ale House. I not sure I like the Drinking Hall.

I would like to adapt the McDeath castle as well. The wind mill from McDeath was pictured above.

I was looking at this old campaign set for some ideas for outbuildings for Dale and Bree. I have already made the wind mill. I realized the keep was not large and would make a good addition as well.
Image I will start with the front gate when I finish the Ale House.

I have not had time to finish the Brewery but I did cut out the Ale House. I also took time to cut a water wheel
from PCV water pipe. I used a dowel rod for a hub and spokes. I cut out a Toll booth for McDeath as well.
Image Image Image
I have not trimed or sanded the spokes or hub. I just used them as a guide to drill the holes so far.
I still have to make the press mold to finish the details.

Doesn't help the stereotype of Fantasy Dwarves being drunks, but very nice work, like virtually everything you do, it looks very detailed and authentic 8)

I am also going to convert a mining camp from Terror of the Lichmaster.
I should have this project done in time to work on Dale as I find more set photos from the Hobbit.

Anna is very proud of her first Wargame building. She used craft scissors to cut out the shingles. I cut out several extra buildings for the kids to work on.
We will paint it tomorrow.
I only worked on the water wheel for a bit. Anna put shingles on a small block that we will make into a tool shed.

The youngest wants to get into the fun as well. Please take note of the dust masks and eye and ear protection. 5 years old is old enough to start learning safety.

I started detailing the Watch tower and a small out building. I trimmed and glued up the spokes for the water wheel.
I covered several blocks with drywall filler for tomorrow.

I need to cut out a mill pond like this one from awhile back.

coming along nicely! I really should learn to work with wood! I have a wood carving set at home, tryd it on a log but it didn't work really wel. It was more like peeling of pieces.

I started incrementing with new Hobbit houses while the shingles were drying on the barn.
Image Image Image Image
I will cut away the window and use a larger post like on the left side of the Hobbit house.
I was trying to make do with some scrap. It did not turn out as well as I hoped.
I am going to put shingles on the toll booth/guard house. The Watchtower is almost ready to stain.

The new table is going to be larger so that the Alamo will fit so I cut down the old watchers pool. I dry stacked a new damn for the mill so that I could have a better idea of how much I needed to cast. I also cut out three more hobbit houses for the new village.
Image
Image Image
The Ale house is now metallic green but we did get some rocks sponge painted. I am ready to stain the tower.
Image
Stained with Min-wax English oak
I still need to paint the windows and touch up some paint. A new batch of kid resistant terrain.

I need another "Scouring of the Shire" set for a convention so I decided to make a new set that fits in storage boxes better.
This time I am going to take more photos and use what I have learned from the old set.
Image Image Image
I can fit two hobbit hoses in one box and I will be able to transport and store more safely. :)
I am glad you like the hobbit houses more to come very shortly :!:

Hobbiton! Ah you'll make a fantastic job of this Willow, your terrain/building is always top notch. Do you plan on making the whole area? or just single pieces.

I have a large collection of commercial buildings. Most of the buildings on the shelf in the old game room are from the Miniature Building Authority http://www.miniaturebuildingauthority.c ... taloge.pdf There are a few from Grendel and Epic Cast in the photo. The buildings on the right side of the new game room closest are from the estate of a friend of mine. They are MBA and Old Glory. I build a lot with Hirst art blocks but most are stored in wooden boxes.

The new house has a large basement and I have a detached storage building at my old house.

Lotrcenerybuilder has done a lot of research. http://www.lotrscenerybuilder.org/hobbi ... php?page=2 I am going to use,3,8,12,14,19,22,and 37 as guides to start.
When I build the new book shelf and game table I will start a large project again.
