All Galadhrim already have armour, and all models have hand weapons (such as swords) unless they are listed as unarmed (or did you mean Elven blades instead of swords?). I personally prefer using Wood Elves (unarmoured) for archers and Galadhrim (armoured) for front line, perhaps with Wood Elves for spears for saving points.

I guess you only took Sam for the theme, at least I would take another Stormcaller instead.

I went your points through and resulted with 613 points :? Obviously I misunderstood your list or you wrote something wrong.

Generally I like the idea of your list.

EDIT: Give Haldir a bow, otherwise you're wasting his Expert Shot (that's what I would do, anyway).

And what kind of theme are you going for? Samwise doesn't really fit in, and he would honestly be a waste of points. He can't fight as well and he'll be left behind by the rest of the army.

I think it was supposed to be something like Sam visiting the Elves after the War of the Ring, since they fascinate him so much. He won't be very good, he rarely is, but it could be quite funny to play.

hmmm, generally sam is only effective in the context of the fellowship and even then he rarely proves to be 1/3 as effective as legolas or gimli like his points would suggest...

What if the shaman/batswarm doesn't target Sam, why would your opponent want to? Fair enough though, it's cool to see someone using a 'plot' model tactically. What do you mean by holding up bat swarms though, do you mean flinging him at them in combat or what? Do you just use him to absorb hits for your heroes, how do you do it?

But he only moves 4 in. How is he supposed to keep up with your army unless you give him a pony? Even then, he'll only move 8in, so how is he going to take out a bat if it moves 12in?

Don't do that. If a model has a bow, it cannot use a shield, so you will lower his Defense by giving him a bow. You might even give Sam a pony, so he doesn't get so far behind.

Single cheap heroes like sam are great for missions where you set up alternately. He gives you a free look at where your opponent is commiting.

Haldir, defender of Helm's deep automaticly comes with a bow + he doesn't have the 'expert shot' rule, were you thinking of the average haldir? (i.e. not Helm's deep version)
