i'm not entirely sure if this is the right topic as i am not playing yet but am rather asking about the campaign. when i was browsing the gw website i came across rules for a sbg campaign from like 2007 in the white dwarf archive section.
https://www.games-workshop.com/gws/cont ... tid=433039

i wa wondering, do you think these are good campain rules? i think it will favor the evil sides with rohan being at a distict dissadvantage (they are surrounded by all 3 factions in a way that none of the others are) and seems to make for a short campaign, which me and my friends would prefer a longer campaign, and extending the rules would just lead people to trying to annhialate each other than treat it like a "normal" campain as you can only control the specific points and thier are no clear borders so it loses a sense of realism to me.
i ould like to know if you have played this, was it good? or is it better to convert mighty empires?
thanks.

hi there! I have the White Dwarf in which the campaign was featured and we did try a Rohan/Elves themed force versus Isengard. I personally found that there was not enough happening between battles to make the campaign interesting, so it became rather boring after a while. As you say the Mighty Empires set has some very interesting rules and a fantastic tile set. I mixed the two rule sets and created my own campaign rules along with the Mighty Empire tile set for the regions of Gondor and Mordor to fight over.

See my thread below for rules download

My pleasure, let me know how you find them as they have not been properly tested yet. Good luck!

Hmm I've just checked the link and I also got a virus alert. I have Norton Antivirus so they have blocked the attack on my computer. I'm not having any problems now although if you don't have a good anti-virus software I wouldn't risk it.

I think this is the direct download link http://www.mediafire.com/?ftmcfqmdhtc6w1j

If you want, PM your email and I will attach the file and send it that way :)
