It's an inspiring piece. How many hours do you figure it took you?

Hello Onyx! I was wondering how long it took you and cost you to make that brilliant board(s). It has been my dreams for the game for the last 10 years since we all saw it on the big screen.

As I wrote in the article, it took me a month from casting the first blocks to getting it finished. I did have a week of holidays in that month so I got to focus on it more than usual.

As to cost... I have no idea. I bought several moulds from Hirst Arts, polystyrene for the base and cliffs, paint, varnish, Glass Coat (resin for the stream), dental plaster (a 20kg bag for about $10AUS, MDF for the base, terrain materials (flock, static grass etc) and more that I've probably forgotten. It would have been a few hundred dollars at least (worth every penny to me though ).

A local game club has expressed interest in buying it and the only reason I'd sell it is to make a better version next time!

I for one would be beyond interested in purchasing your board(s) to be honest. I dont think I could build a proper helm's deep sadly... I figured it would be a few hundred dollars to make and I bet it is more than worth every penny! I have enjoyed all of your work so far.

Heya your work is amazing the best I've ever seen, I was wondering what was polystyrene and what was made from the molds because some on the molds are for decorations and some are for the walls. Do you have the measurements for the hole thing or plans that show sizes of everything?

I like Onyx's model. I have studied his plain and others in preparation for building one for my self.
I would suggest you start with a smaller Hirst Art project like the prison tower#60. Then decide if you want to cast the Helms Deep project. I think your own WIP page should be your first step. Specific questions are easier to deal with than general questions. If you want to jump right in Start with Helms Deeps gate. You will need #50,60, 63, and may be # 53

There are parts on #51 you will need. You will need to decide on a floor mold too. #201 or 200
