WOTR/LOTR: Angmar Army 3000+
Hi
No club this week so I spent the time finishing my Angmar army. I have used them before against Dwarves (using Buhrdur's Battlehost) to great success, now I want to use Angmar more and have a few tactics planned.

I mainly play WotR, but we are about to start a push with others in the club to try out LotR SBG so that we can run regular battles - we are planning to hold battles during to week to get some decent skirmish games in and leave WotR for club days!

Very, very nice- having dabbled a little in the Angmar department, I must say that I am impressed. And you have more than enough to get SBG going- in very, very large points, if you so desire. Keep up the good work!

I love the Angmar army, and I see you have done some nice stuff, but you are missing the Barbarians of Carn Dum. Very nice theme, with the Spiders in there, I believe I've seen your stuff before. Also, in case you haven't noticed, Ghosts and Ghostly Riders do not exist in SBG.

Your work is nonetheless fantastic, and yet again I wish I could play against you.

Likewise on the playing against situation- you seem to be a worthy opponent. And I did overlook that, so thanks for pointing that out, Gothmog- Ghostly Riders and Ghosts don't exist in SBG.

But it is still a very nice army, one worthy of doing battle with the best that the hosts of good may muster against it.

Personally, I'd drop the Orc command (for the WOTR list) for some more ghosts or a Ringwraith. Otherwise, a very sound list (though missing the Carn Dum barbarians). I haven't got the Angmar rulebook for SBG, so I can't comment there.

I have updated the list to remove the Ghost from SBG...(thanks once again Gothmogthewerewolf)! The WOTR list above is basically a "look what I have painted" as apposed to an actual army list. When I have fielded Angmar before I have used Buhrdur's Battle host to great effect - check it out on our blog(http://eastgrinsteadwargamers.blogspot.com/2011/10/wotr-battle-report-dwarves-v-angmar.html) or on the battle report section of this website.

You are verty welcome. I have read that report earlier, and reading helped me pick the type of Angmar list I liked best so thank you very much.

We are planning a LOTR SBG game this weekend, my first, does anyone have any suggestions for a SBG 500 point army based on the figures I have (see blog link)?

I would run Burdhur or Ghulavar as the primary hero for the list, have a Warg chief and several smaller wargs, then include a nice smattering of orcs- Burdhur if you would like more models, but at 500pts Ghulavar can be disturbingly effective, and intimidating.

Cool, thanks for your thoughts, I love both buhrdur and gulavhar so would love to field them with orcs an warg. I will post the battle report following the battle.

Played my first LotR SBG Mordor v Gondor 500 points, but I just fielded the witchking with 3 war band, 2 lots of orcs and 1 warg... I really enjoyed the game, just didn't get to field any trolls or monsters... Maybe next time!

I took loads of photos as usual and will post a SBG battle report in due course!
