As the title says, this is my last 750pt GOOD list for awhile... AND its Dwarves!!!

We decided in our local area to attempt to run Purist armies, meaning trying to significantly cut down on our allies and try and stick with some force cohesion. I only needed to buy a couple more models to round out my Dwarf force, so they got the nod! I'm a little worried about my body count, with the new warband rules it does make it difficult to keep numbers up, i always end up at a really weird point amount left over which makes some decisions rather hard!

Warband 1: 190pts
Gimili
5x Dwarf Warriors with Shields - 45pts.
5x Khazad Guard - 55pts.

Warband 2:165pts
Dwarf Captain with Shield
5x Dwarf Warriors with Shields - 45pts.
5x Khazad Guard - 55pts.

Warband 3: 243pts.
King's Champion
4x Vault Warden Teams
2x Dwarf Warriors with Shields

Warband 4: 150pts
Dwarf Captain with Shield
3x Iron Guard
2x Dwarf with Shield
2x Khazad Guard

Models: 43 (break point 22)
Might: 9

Thoughts: I know i'm fairly low on the models, and my experiences with the new warbands (roughly 5 games or so) has shown that shooting is really needed. Don't get me wrong, if i had access to STR 4 shooting like Uruks then i'd be all over it! I also play against a lot of Isenguard + other heavily armored warriors where shooting is lack luster at best. My basic troopers are extremely tough. It should see me through most conflicts. I know a lot do not like the Vault Wardens, but man combine them with the Kings champion at their center and that is one extremely tough road block! We also play with a lot of terrain at the store, its not hard to set up proper match ups.

Any suggestions?

You could get Balin instead of two captains and split the last warband's warriors to the other warbands 8)

my view.
Not enough iron guard

Drop a captain and get some iron guard in the other warbands (moving hte remaining dudes there)

Also if you can get balin in DO IT!

If I could drop a captain i would, however under the new rules you're only permitted 12 warriors per hero.

There's also some stipulations such as in the King's Champion warband he's only allowed 10 since his heralds take up 2 of the slots.

Vault Warden also count as 2 models.

I moved the 2x models from each of the other warbands to help flesh out the numbers in my last warband. Otherwise i could wind up being deployed by myself with a captain and 3 iron guard!

I can look at getting Balin, i tend to avoid characters that are already dead though, i might swing it.

"already dead" ?? Balin dies DURING the world of middle earth otherwise your real problem is that none of them were ever alive.

But I see what you mean with pts n numbers.
I would still prefere to drop 1 shield dude to upgrade some of Gimli's kin to iron guard

Balin was dead about 20 years before the WotR started in ernest.

Yup. i usually try and theme my armies around the time of TWOTR. Or shortly after. For example this army could very well be Gimili's kin as he becomes Lord of the Gliterring Caves! hahaha

Ah, yes Tolkein did claim to find and translate the Redbook instead of coming up with it on his own.
