Ghost Archers?

Why are there no archers in the army of the dead box?
I know that they have the rule that know matter what the model has shown they always count as armed with hand weapons.
But I'm positive that before they all died long ago that the army had archers.
Has anyone converted models to ghostly archers?
I could see how they might be pointless but visually they would look cool, right?
Let me hear your thoughts. I'm thinking of doing something like this when I get some ghosts.

Because you don't see any Ghost archers in the RotK? One could assume they had archers and it would make sense that they would considering the elves had mastered the bow years before but the warriors of the dead may have been from a culture that did not use the bow. It's possible, but highly unlikely. I haven't seen anyone do Ghost archers but I look forward to seeing some done.

Personally, I'd get too caught up in wondering whether ghost arrows somehow stayed part of the ghosts who launched them or became lethal through some other means.
As a hobbyist, though, I'm just as curious to see how the models are worked out as WayUnder is.

I remember seeing here in someone's gallery ghost archers converted from warriors of Rohan. They looked really nice but unfortunately I don't remember who created them; it was some years ago.

I think they'd look great, and not be difficult to convert either, so why not?

Well, if there was an exception to the weapons rule ghost's have, could the ghost archers be allowed to still shoot?
Maybe the "arrows" could instill fear in the enemies? Somehow?

What are your thoughts?

None were shown in the movie.

And if they did have archer models then certain fools would be confused as wether or not they counted as having bows or not even though they weren't allowed to.

There were archers in the ROTK game which looked alright. Although I would love GW to release them before they were ghosts, i love the look of the plastics.

I asked this question a long, long while back and reckon that I'll make some one day.
The idea of the arrows instilling fear in the enemy is a great one - as a cloud of ghostly arrows speeding toward them really would give them the heebie-jeebies.

It's been some time since there was a reply in this post. :-D

How about we resurrect it with some progress or rather a start to this project.

Now that the Warriors of the Dead can benefit from wargear in the new sourcebooks, why not give them an upgrade for bows?

I've started on some conversions though they are very unfinished at the moment.
