We haven't seen anything from Games Workshop's LotR range in a while, and their subsidiary company, Sabertooth Games, who made the LotR Tradeable Miniatures Game, no longer exists. And then, there's always Mithril Miniatures, who aren't widely available, yet have a release regularly. BUT, I was shocked to find that another company has acquired rights to producing LotR miniatures--WizKids. Yes, WizKids is now making a range of LotR miniatures based on the films, The Lord of the Rings HeroClix.
For those with no experience with HeroClix, they are prepainted miniatures on bases with stats on them, coming also with stat cards and gameplay maps. They are usually a bit bigger than GW minis. The sculpts and paint jobs vary from standard to very poor. My experience with HeroClix is confined to a Master Chief/Arbiter HaloClix promotional set that I bought from Amazon specifically to re-paint. These figures were fairly decent, but the most recent Halo minis are absolutely terrible in comparison. The only image I've seen of the new LotR HeroClix range is a very small picture of an 8-figure starter set.
With GW cutting way, way back on LotR, seemingly stalling until The Hobbit, and with the movies now far removed from general thought, I was extremely surprised to find that WizKids would make this range. Here are some links:

But tbh, I'm not that interested. I am, however, interested in some of WizKid's older Halo minis, for re-painting, and maybe eventually actually trying the game.
