Figured I would start a WIP thread to keep myself motivated.

So Here are my two latest. Using the plastic fellowship to work on highlighting and shading.
Image

As far as galadriel here are the colors.
Face/skin-base coat GW Tallarn flesh and highlights with increasing GW Elf Flesh, lips were the slightest amount of Vallejo Vermillion.
Dress-base coat white, then Vallejo Flat Aluminum (like GW space wolfs grey ), washed with dilute GW Fenris Grey and drybrushed with Windsor and Newton Titanium White.
Armor-Base Boltgun metal, shade with dilute Vallejo Black, highlight with GW Mithril Silver
Hair-Base of GW Iyanden Darkson, highlights adding Vallejo Sand Yellow then adding a little WN titanium White for the final highlight.
Had a lot of trouble with the dress, no matter what I did I kept getting air bubbles in the recess areas with the Flat Aluminum and white layers that I could not eliminate. Which is why I washed the dress part and did not apply shading with layers. This is probably the best face I have done so far. Faces are hard. :)
The Base is a mix of GW sand, Medium and Fine Talus from Woodland Scenics. Topped with GF-9 Winter Grass and then an Army Builder Swamp Tuft.

That's lovely work on Galadriel's face. Nice smooth skintones.

Some very inspirational painting here. Your highlighting and shading really is fantastic and brings a kick to them. Liking the elven blue eyes as well, fits them wonderfully.

Thanks everyone. The blue eyes were nerve racking. I usually use a .05mm pen to dot eyes on my mass produced models but I only have a black one, maybe I should invest in a blue one for any other elf heroes. I will post aragorn and gandalf that I did earlier in the year once Le Tour is done for the day.
Okay, here is a Burhdur conversion. Bought him for $1 at a flea market without the arm.

Then Gandalf and Aragorn from the plastic fellowship. Aragorn is shaded with washes.

And one dunlending

I see you are using both pro create and GS for your burhdur conversion. I'm wondering why you used the GS for the spikes and the PC for the wrappings though. From what I've heard GS would be better for the wrappings as it's more rubbery, and the PC would be better for the spikes as it sets firmer.

i like the idea of basing some stairs under gandalf. And some great painting on legolas and galadriel!
Conversion of buhrdur looks fine so far, can't wait to see it painted up.

Here are some spectres, which scheme works best? Rusty or Slimey?

Also, thought I would give a pic of the bench at the moment.

I like both, but I like the rusty look better...that is what I use for mine with a ghostly skin tone.

So finished the morannon and wargs that were on the bench. When I varnished them, some frosted a bit (damn), which is strange since they were all on a piece of cardboard together and not all of them frosted. These are batch painted, so few if any highlights.
Moranon paint scheme:
Flesh-gnoll green from reaper pro(RP)-then entire model drybrushed with ivory from vallejo model color(VMC).
pants-english uniform VMC highlight with deneb stone GW.
Under Shirt-this was done in groups of 2, these have dark flesh( Vallejo Game Color) as the shirt-glove.
Over Shirt-dragon red from RP.
Armor-Boltgun metal GW - highlight/drybrushed with Mitril SIlver (GW).
Leather - Khemri brown (GW).
Hair-mixed a bunch of paint from my wet pallet and got a greyish green color, liked it so on it went. Really dilute so the white drybrush could be seen.
Shield-scorched brown (GW) drybrushed with Deneb Stone (GW).
Then all models were dipped in Army Painter Dark Tone Shader, shaken off and allowed to dry.
Matte varnished (Army Painter)
Image

Wargs
Primed with Army Painter Brown Fur
Drybrushed with Deneb Stone(GW)
Teeth-Ivory (VMC)
Gums-Scarlet Red (VMC)
Dipped in Dark Shader from Army Painter
Brushed on Matte Varnish for these guys after the orcs frosted(Liquitex)

And a pic of the workbench
