Plus if Ugluk is near the Mordor Orcs and no enemies he has the "Get back, Mordor Scum!" rule doesn't he?

Ah, well in gaming terms Lurtz is actually superior to Ugluk as he has a higher defence value (Lurtz has Def. 6, Ugluk has Def. 5) plus Lurtz has a bow aswell. Also does Ugluk still have the "Get back, Mordor scum!" rule that he has in the 16th issue of the SBGiME magazine?

No, he doesn't. He has the same D as Ugluk. He has a bow, so he can't use the shield for D, but he can use it for shielding.

I don't know about BGiME, but his special rule is in the Two Towers journeybook, it increases his standfast for a turn.

Ahh, excuse my lack of knowledge when it comes to things past the basics. I am more a painter than a gamer so I only have a slight grasp on the rules.

well, I won with no surprise; this is the list my friend took:

erebor:
-dwarf captain with shield
-5 dwarfs with shield
-5 dwarfs with bow
-4 dwarfs with 2handed axe

woses:
-gan bura gan
-9woses warriors

the wizards:
-radagast
-gandalf the grey

so he practically over powered on heroes
so I just waited on my side of the field and waited because he couldn't volley
when he arrived I just swarmed him...

does anyone have more tips for my army, because I might be taking it to an upcoming tournament.

(I forgot to mention: my friend also had a dwarf with banner and 4 kazad-guard)

I would recommend getting some cavalry, it can be mighty useful. :)

My suggestion would be to drop lurtz+the shaman for a captain and more numbers.
