So I've read. And I've read. And I've read. And I've read. The hardest part about getting into this game is the simple fact that information I seek is so hard to find. So here is hoping I can get some information from you guys. (Nice forum btw)

Q1) Royal guards... with bows?! Some sources I read say they come with em, and aren't in the rules yet, some say they dont. Which is correct?

Q2) I own Grimbold but ofc had to do a ton of searching to find info for him. So far I believe I have his stats and cost, but I was curious about his wargear... Is that a 2H axe? What else does he come with?

Q3) Sons of Eorl. They look good, and everyone loves them, but I can't find a whole lot of info on em. What is their wargear? What happens when one has his mount shot out from under em as they have no foot version?

Q4) Can I give a horn to a Royal Guard? I have a ahrd time justifying a 20 point add on to a 7 point model.

I thank you all for your patience and your time to help me out. It's a fun game so far, but the searching for info that should be available kills me. I mean, is it that hard to put in a slip of paper with a units stats, wargear and cost inside the blister? I've already bought the overpriced everything else, why do they hide info about models I've already bought or make me search ebay for old white dwarf issues? :(

Q1 If you go to the gw site, you can find the profile of the royal guards. There it say's They don't come with bows, but in the rules manual i have the fight value is 4/4+ so i think you can equip them with a bow.
Q2 You can find this answer in the WhiteDwarf of March 2010 (363).
Q3 I don't know where to find there wargear but i think that if a horse is shot from one of them, you can simply take a standard rohan warrior to act as a son of eorl.
Q4 Yes you can do that. I only don't know how many points it is going to cost.

There are 5 sources for all Rohan. Books: the main rulebook has most of the profiles; the Two Towers journey book has several profiles, like Erkenbrand and outriders; the Shadow in the East has Eorl. PDFs are on GW's site under White Dwarf archives: Reinforcements has Sons of Eorl; Rohan Reinforcements has Grimbold.

I agree it's really stupid of GW, very poor business practice, to make it so difficult to get this information.

1. RRG don't come with bows. They're in the main rule book, they have a throwing spear option.
2. That's in the PDF
3. Also in the PDF. If they become dismounted, proxy a normal WoR marked in some unique way
4. Yes. @rikker, it's 20 points for a horn, doesn't matter what model has it.

For your first question, the option for giving Royal Guards bows has been printed in the Rohan lists in Legions of Middle-Earth, but that's about it. In their wargear options it says that they may replace their shields for bows for free. You would have thought that they could be armed with both considering the Expert Rider rule, but it's one or the other (at least you dont' have to pay any extra points). Although a lot of army lists in the book are dated, Legions of Middle-Earth is offical in most tournaments and the like, so I guess the bow option is an offical one. Just make sure that your'e opponent knows about the option to avoid any confusion. For the model, a quick conversion will do the trick.

I hope this helps. 8) For the other questions, pretty much what the other guys said. :)
