In two days I'm going to play a game with some friends. My opponents are playing dwarves and gondor, and I will have an Easterling ally. The easterling-friend will have a really, really basic army. He's just a beginner. His list will be Amdur, and the rest filled with warriors. I'm going to play Isengard, and I really want to play my Saruman and Grima :) I know my Gondor enemy will use Boromirs because he always does, and he has no other big hero :P I came up with this list, but it isn't too good and very elite:

Saruman
Grima
Captain with Heavy Armour
7x Berserker
7x Uruk-hai Warrior with Shield
7x Uruk-hai Warrior with Crossbow

That makes 502points total, 24men, 7bows and 5might. I know it is very elite and few numbers, but I think it will be in balance with the troop only easterling ally. I guess it's very dangerous in CC but my opponents will probably shoot half my army down while I'm trying to get to them. I could hide my guys behind the Easterlings :) Any toughts?

Kiliaan

Get rid of the captain for more guys, i know you have an ally who can level out the amount of models but you can never have too many beserkers.

I reckon you could do with some spear supports as well.

7Uruk-hai shield
7Orc spear
8Uruk-hai crossbow

Exactly 500points, 3might, 31men and 8bows

That looks better. I thought about a similar list but had orcs with shields instead of uruks though I think uruks would be better.

I prefer your second list as well.

Remember to use the Saruman-Berserkers combo to kill Boromir.

Use Saruman's Compel to pull out Boromir, and then surround him with Berserkers. You should be getting at least twelve attacks to wound, each with +1.

The +1 is from the two-handed weapons.

I actually won! yay :D The army worked pretty good and except for that my enemy had enough luck to shoot 2berserkers with only 4bows everything went pretty good. My friend decided to not bring Boromir this time (first time ever :() but I used the Compell-berserker combo and I surounded my friend's Gimli and Balin with 5berserkers (not at the same time) and did 10wounds on Gimli and 11 on Balin. Really enjoyed the overkill :P

Thanks for the help everyone, Kiliaan

Sounds like you really dealt out some pain with those Beserkers. Well done mate. ;)

I do have a question, My enemy surrounded Grima with 4 of his guys, so I couldn't get close to any heroes of him. Can he do that or is there a rule he can't?

I think it's allowed?

I also think it's allowed, but it's just a waste of 25 points on my part :(

Why couldn't he do it? Besides, he probably spent more points surrounding you than you spent on Grima, so be happy :)

Well, the problem is he used 4 moria goblins (he needed some extra points for 500points, and since we don't play very LoME-ish, we allowed him to use goblins in a dwarf army). So he only used 20points, while I used 25 :(

Dude don't think about it points wise. It means that 1 of your models is taking 4 of his out of the contest. I would take that most of the time.

Meh... I could also have taken 2 more Uruk-Hai and an extra Orc. They would have been a lot more useful than 4 Moria Goblins :(
