Is there a limit to the amount of characters entered into the text box? I don't think I could include my entire backlog...

I wouldn't want to type up my entire backlog. It would take too long. I'm just posting what I purchased and what I painted to "unlock" that purchase.

I wouldn't want to type up my LotR backlog, nevermind the entire backlog...

Once I get settled in to the new lair, I may consider joining up based solely on LotR model painting/purchases.

Am I the only one who dosnt have a large backlog? Out of about 750 minies (not all LOTR) I only have 18 unpainted...

@Dorth -- Stop cursing and get painting before you're tempted to just "destroy with an explosive missile fired from a shoulder-mounted platform" the whole lot out of frustration!

I've also a litte backlog because I started collecting end 2009 and I can resist buying a lot of miniatures ;-)

With the finecast release, I've my personnal oath: buy and paint a finecast miniature(s), paint a miniature(s) from by (little) backlog, buy and paint a finecast miniature(s), ...
So when I buy a miniature, I immediately paint it and my backlog is reducing...

Even though my collection isn't as large as many of you, I definetly would not consider myself to be a newbie. I have enough restraint and responsibility to not mindlessly buy 5 boxes of plastic warriors and leave 3 unopened or many years. I will buy some warriors, paint them, then buy some more. I hate having unpainted figures on the battlefield, it just takes away the whole spirit of it.

I am going to give you the benefit of a doubt that you did not mean that to turn out as condescending as it sounds.
I have both a plain and a budget. Sometimes that plain includes purchasing figures as they become available for later use. I have completed my collection with a reasonable number of spares for future trade. I have collected armies of everything. I have finished many but not even opened others.I have un-opened duplicates of most of the boxed sets.

I don't play with unpainted figures or shabby terrain. I usually can provide painted figures and nice terrain when necessary.

I know a lot of people with larger collections than I have. I just wish I had more space. Now that I have retired I can spend more time painting. That was the plain to buy when I could and paint when I had time.

By this forum's standards I must be a newbie (and I admit I am, my only opponent is my 9-year-old daughter - but her dwarves are mean!) My backlog isn't huge either. Coming here is bad for my restraint though, I find myself often going straight to ebay from here. The minis from those BGIME mags are assembled but still unprimed, and that bunch of uruks should arrive soon... :shock:

He didn't call you a newbie. He said that your meagre unpainted backlog was about the same as a newbie would have. It was nothing more than a comparison, yet you managed to perceive it as an insult, without actually reading exactly what was written.

It is the ability to process information correctly and not fly off the handle when generating a response that makes you mature and experienced. :wink:

(please take that in the light-hearted nature that it is intended.)

It is also well documented in certain circles that, upon completion of the last model in your backlog, you die. Some of us are just trying hard to work out the secrets of immortality. :-D
