Faction: Isengard, 1.0

Driven by Saruman’s promises of eternal war and man-flesh upon which they may feast, the Uruk-hai of Isengard are fearsome warriors. Descending upon enemy combatant and innocent alike, they will not stop their wanton destruction until all that was once good and beautiful is no more.

2 Uruk-hai Scouts with sword

Equipment
Shield, Orc Bow, Pike..............................1 Inf.

2 -- Uruk-hai Scout with sword
3 -- Uruk-hai Scout with shield

Reinforcements (Cont’d)
1 -- Uruk-hai Warrior with pike
2 -- Uruk-hai Warrior with shield
3 -- Uruk-hai Warrior with crossbow
4 -- Feral Uruk-hai
5 -- Uruk-hai Berserker
6 -- Choose one of the above

Special Rules
Shaman -- The Hero has begun to learn powerful incantations that spur his warband to fight
through the most grievous wounds and paralyze his enemies with fear. The first time this rule is
chosen, the hero gains the Fury magical power (as detailed in the main rulebook), that is cast on
a 3+ and has a range of 6”. The second time, the hero gains the Transfix magical power which
is cast on a 5+ and has a range of 12”.

Terror -- Some warriors are so fearsome as to freeze their enemies' blood in their veins. This hero causes Terror as outlined in the main rulebook.

**A note about Feral Uruk-hai and Uruk-hai Berserkers**
Though awesome combatants, Feral Uruk-hai and Uruk-hai Berserkers are so consumed with bloodlust that they do not possess the presence of mind to lead their fellow warriors. As such, Feral Uruk-hai and Uruk-hai Berserkers can never be promoted to heroes.

------------------------------
I am not crazy about "Terror" as the second special rule, but was drawing a blank on suitable ideas. Any suggestions? If not, Terror can work...I mean, Lurtz was one scary bad mamma-jamma.

Looks pretty good although the Uruks with just a sword might only be annoying IMO... unless a lot of people actually play with them like that because in a complete army I would prefer them to all have shields.

in my update i made berserker a special rule. where heroes could choose to become berserkers, with the rule that they gain berserker stats but are unable to lead fellow warriors. ie. can make heroic move but does not affect friendly models.

uruk-hai were also able to be "promoted" to berserkers under certain circumstances.
i didn't use feral uruk-hai at all.

@Easterling -- I agree that the scouts with shields are better, but you always have the option of purchasing them a shield with your Influence. I was just trying to stick with the original idea of having these companies be very cheap to purchase so as to entice more gamers. As the Uruk-hai Scout box comes with 8 with sword, 8 with shield, and 8 with bow, you can buy a whole BC on the cheap!

@Numenor -- I like your rule for a more RPGish model like you are doing, but I'm trying just to use existing troop types from the LotR range, with really only having customization on the Hero models. I threw Feral Uruk-hai in there because they fit the theme, and some people might have them in their collections and want to use them.
