I'm afraid not. I think my issues were with an Ipod I got my daughter for Xmas. I had to take it back and since I had tried installing some tracks on it, the laptop has never been the same. It was showing a Trogan on it which was alarming. I have since discovred there can be a conflict with Windows 7 and Ipods, in that Windows 7 regards the software as a Trogan.
Anyway to cut a long story short, it appears the same fault is causing the issues with the camera and this may also have something wrong with it now. So I don't want to plug the camers into another computer.
So unless I can get a few hundred notes to buy a load of new gear I don't see any quick fixes.

One of my friends grandchild fixed mine after my niece did something similar. Sorry I don't know what he did.
When I was in college computers were the size of buildings and you wore white coats when you worked with them. :?

If u know someone that's good with computers ask him :) I got some friends that helped me b4 for enoying problems. I once had that my computers sound - went to the max volume and i couldn't turn it down. Something was wrong with it, really enoying. A simple programme fixed that problem. Sometimes there are also more illegal options. :-D

I will keep trying and fingers crossed I will have some luck. Like this project though, I'm not one for giving up...
Charlie - I know what you mean, I remember being about 13 and having options at school, there was this new subject called computer studies, I thought to myself ' when would I ever need that ' - Oh for the power of hindsight.

Well I managed to resolve my technical issues, though painting has taken a back seat due to summer hobbies. The Mumak is on a base now with grass and the crew, barring one or two are in place.
I will get some photo's soon.

Here we are then, slowly getting there but you can now see the idea that I had from the early days of this idea.

Below is a close up of the Howdah. As you can see there are a couple of figures still to paint, but the others have been finished and pinned in place. It's surprising how much more room there is when the bases are removed, so I stuck is an extra couple of figures on it.
Image

This shows the view from above the Howdah. The horses are not all finished so they are still on there bases. They will be removed from these and pinned in place once I decide on what goes where.
Image

A view across the charge. I was hoping for quiet a dramatic look that encapsulates the charge into the Mumak line - what do you think ? The nearest horse is still to be re-painted
Image

An over view of the diorama. You can make out the riderless horse at the back and the two nearest Rohan are riding into two Harad pikemen. Their pose is perfect for what I wanted and the Rohan charging at them will have a couple of tweeks like an arrow in the raised shield of the frontmost. - although maybe not entirely accurate to the film, this is my own slant on the scene.
Image

I hope you like how this is developing, though as always I am open to advice good or bad. I have about 6 figures to paint and the blood to go on, plus handmaking a few arrows and then I will be able to say, job done...

I did look at more corpses, I even have a couple painted up ready, but when I was planning everything and placing things here and there, it just looked too much.
One photo I should have added is the far side of the Mumak. There is a rocky outcrop there that will have a Harad archer on top firing at the advancing Rohan. That will have three Harad foot soldiers - may be some scope to increase this by one or two ?????

Rocks and some sand might work. To make the plain more varied. And that might help to look it more dettailed and filled no?
Just suggestion. U might be right about not adding to much soldiers. I don't think u want to walk close to a mumak or rohan guys charging.

Just noticed u have some sand already - not so clear on that one picture because of the light

I have built up the grass so there are different shades that the photo does not show. I will save that for so final photo's when it is finished.
There are a couple of pacthes of sand and like I've said, the rocks are there.

You will of course need to put dead orcs...
A good one but difficult would be to add warriors of the dead climbing on the mumakil :-D

Really great diorama :yay: I'm not sure I would add too many more figures as I think it might get too clustered. Depends what kind of look you want. My first impression was the plain/grass was too green - it looked like they were fighting on the front lawn. However, reading thru the posts it seems this might just be due to the photos (who says the camera never lies!) as you have sand and rocks in the mix. Maybe a few tufts of longer light brown grass at various places might help also?

I love the Rohan rider impaled on the tusk. Whether or not this defies the laws of physics or biology - who cares! It looks great!!

I did do a bit of research and thought into the grass. The battle took place in March, so I went for a Spring look as there would be new growth. There are some clumps of longer grass that haven't shown up on the photos. Beneath this top layer of grass is a patchwork of different colours that does show through though the photo's haven't picked this up.
Ultrageek - there are a few dead Orcs amongst the corpses. If you look through the thread you will see individual photo's of the ones I did.

At last I have finished - nearly 2 1/2 yrs later. Admittedly I did take a year or so out of the hobby. So here's the finished product

The above shows the head on charge with a sight of a few corpses.
