So i just won a bunch of rohan infantry of ebay, even though rohan are a cavalry army the warriors of rohan are very cheap, good infantry and i plan on making a horde army. What i got was 13 archers, 19 with shield (8 can have spears) I understand that has an illegal bow limit so no wonder i found it on ebay. It also came with Theoden on foot and merry in rohan armour. I can likely get hold of radagast and 24 more rohan warriors soon. Any ideas for what forces i could make? Im thinking of getting hama to bypass stand fast's due to theodens low will, i am also intrigued by grimbold...

I am also quite likely to come by another 12 wild wargs, meaning i will have 18 wargs and 4 giant spiders. So i plan on making a dwellers below list with them. I will purchase a wild warg chieftan soon aswell. I also plan on getting a box of gripping beast vikings and using them as Dundeling warriors, even though goblins are noble swarm infantry i am excited to make an army of dundelings and Wild wargs. The box of vikings includes 44 models, 2 of which can be turned into Viking lords (Dundeling chieftans) and two of which can be turned into hornblowers. This means i should have about 442 points worth of dundelings and 283 points of wargs+spiders. If i took out a hornblower that should make 700 points, it would be 66 models, 5 might and ? number of bows. However that would likely suck, any other suggestions on what to put in? Im thinking a cave troll...

Also do you know where i can find the stats for the Royalblood chieftan of dunland, Dunland beserkers and Royalblood huscarls?

So yeah has anyone got any dunland tactics/Rohan infantry tactics/Wild warg tactics?

Thanks :D

I don't believe Dunland Berserkers or Royalblood Huskarls exist yet (maybe eventually though...).
Thrydan Wolfsbane is the main (I think only) hero for Dunland. He is in WD 362. https://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=14300028a&_requestid=1688753

Grimbold is a good option for any infantry-heavy Rohan army, though I wouldn't recommend upgrading everyone. Archers usually don't need the extra strength and you want to keep individual model cost low for the horde. There are also some interesting formations and tactics you can do with throwing spears, which help a lot against low-defense armies. Rohan Royal Guard are good for their F4, D6 and Bodyguard rules, but too many will also take away from your horde army.
Allying in Woses is another option, as they are cheap, come with a cheap hero, and have spears, blowpipes, and special rules. They could operate independently in woodland, or back up your Rohan troops with spears. And when you get near the enemy, a few turns of poison darts is helpful. A banner is expensive, but it might be worth it in a larger game.

Thanks for te help, and the links :D
I reckon i will get hold of grimbold and upgrade everything but the archers to s4. For now i won't bother with dundelings but use my goblins in their stead. I just won the wargs on ebay but only saved about £10 :( I will most likely convert a warg into a chieftan as im low on money as it is and there is nowhere to buy a cheap grimbold so he will cost a fair bit. Woses would be ideal but the only problem is that they contribute to the bow limit, and im already in possesion of too many bowmen :(

No, they don't. Throwing weapons and blowpipes are not counted in the bow limit.

KK i have some of my rohan's painted, i've lost every game using theoden as a leader so i got grimbold (who is a huge mini) and am planning on using him to bolster my dwarf force+legolas, the reasoning behind this is to give some (relatively) cheap s4 models with throwing weapons that can hold a front line (they have shields)

Leader from the fellowship:
Legolas 90pts

Allies from theodens host:
Grimbold 50pts
10 helmingas with shield and throwing spears 100pts
5 warriors of rohan with bow 35 pts

Allies from durins folk:
Dwarf king with throwing axes 80 pts
4 khazad guard 44pts
7 dwarf warriors with 2 handed axe 56pts
5 dwarf warriors with bow 45pts

Total: 500 points 7 might, 34 models, 10 bows

On the other hand i need some help coming up with an army if i get the woses (which i reckon i will) here is my general idea:

Eomer knight of pelennor 115pts
Warrior of roan with horn 26pts
10 warriors of rohan with shield and spear 90pts
10 warriors of rohan with shield 70 pts
10 warriors of rohan with bow 70pts

Allies from the wild men of druadan forset:
Ghan buri ghan 45pts
12 woses 84 pts

Total: 500pts, 45 models, 6 might (im guessing ghan has 3 might), 10 bows and 12 blowpipes and 22 throwing spears

Is this what he right kind of force for woses to be in or not?

Throw out the dwarf king and two dwarf archers(they don't really do much) for Gimli...
Nice second army...Yes Ghan-buri-ghan has 3 might... and woses can ally with Theoden's host...
Hope I helped... 8)

I really would throw out the dwarves to get gimli but erebor cannot ally with theodens host (infact erebor has comparativley few allying options) so i have to settle with durins folk :( but it should be fine dwarf kings are pretty good...
