I have been working on new details for my terrain collection. I decided to up date my terrain for the Fellowship Journey book.I needed to replace my Balin's tomb but I still wanted to have the parts for the Dwarrowdelf scenario. I decide to use the Hirst art cave floors and pine bark risers.

Image

I made the 5 strait sections from MDFB and glued the cast floor blocks on. I cut several sets of risers for the walk ways. I was careful to make sure that the new sections would line up with the Goblin town sections.

Image

I will begin work on a watchers pool and Door. I think if I am careful with the lake lay out I can use the lake for Gollum's lake as well.

Image

You can see from this photo I am not going to glue up the pine bark risers so I can use them with other bark sections.I have a water fall and more stairways planned.

I have been working on some 40K terrain for Tree Fort Games. So with all of the Christmas and New year family things I have not worked on LOTR much. I did cut out the parts for The Fellow Ship Dwarrowdelf. I glued them up and painted most of it.

Image Image Image

I ordered the elf bridge from Thomarillion. When it arrives I will make measurements and begin a water fall that fits behind it. It will remain modular and the new Hirst arts bridges will work too.

ImageI

I have constructed the Dwarrowdelf risers so that the Goblin Town and Misty Mountain parts will all work together.

Image

I have several pieces near done I will post soon.

Oh they look great man! Very realistic, the elven bridge will be a nice addition. I can't seem to see how you would play a game on this board? Would it just be the fellow ship try to get through various obsticals?

I followed the directions for the Dwarrowdelf Scenario set up from The Fellowship Journey Book.

Yea, that's about it . I am working on the Watcher in the water and a new Balin's tomb to go with it.

Sounds like good fun - a handful of heroes v hords of evil :D Look forward to your watcher and balins tomb, you'll make a great job of it I'm sure! Do all these pieces you've made link up into one large piece? Sorry for all the questions ehe

Every thing I make is modular so that I can build a set up for what ever scenario I can come up with.

I can put together a few large tables very easily. Do not worry about the questions feel free.

Really really really really nice. :-D In fact I'm enjoying looking at every single piece of terrain you make! :D

I have one small suggestion: you could make a throne room sort of thing and use the floor tile mould, if you have it.
A long time ago, there was this nice artilce on the GW site about making the lair of the goblin king, complete withe floor mats and a dais, and a spiky throne at one end and treasure chests as well. 8) Something like that would be cool I think :)

I am sorry I did not see that. I will take your suggestion. Thanks :!:

I picked up the elf bridge from Thomarillion at the post office today. I could not to wait to work on it. So I sanded and stained it. I primed the base black and I have to wait for it to dry. I will discipline my self and glue it together tomorrow.

It is a very fine product. . I decided that the wood would look better stained than painted. I worked on it about a hour including clean up and stain.

I worked a little on the paint. I need to let the wash dry.

lovely!!
You have some great scenery in your cabinet mate!
The bridge looks really great! Love how you painted it! I reflects the peaceful atmosphere of Rivendell perfectly!
Any chance you'll make a Rivendell copy in the (near) future? :)

I will need to practice with a scroll saw a lot more to match a laser cutter.
I am going to finish some new waterfalls and bridges then finish a few things before I start something new.

Victory :!:  I fixed it myself   I will finish up loading the rest of the old disk photo files. At least I can save money for a better camera in stead rushing out for a cheep one.

I think I will cut a smaller base. I was going to build a hill but it won't fit on a self. I have not made up my mind . Comments would be helpful.

It look fantastic, a guide would certainly be in order once finished. I think the base looks good as it is, because it will be easy to move around and use on different boards. Unless your looking to have it exactley as the film..

There are two statues near the base. If I cut the base a little closer to the building, I will be able to place them on separate bases. Otherwise, I will have to build a rather large hill.

Ah yes I see your problem, well if you want to have it easier to store have the actualy model and the two statues seperate would be better. If it was all on the hill together it would probably look better in looks wise. Where did you get the statues from? are they the proper ones from the film
