I thought I'd show you the finished product on my Manger or Crib. It's been sold for 25 quid, and went rather fast at the sale. Tell me what ya think anyways.

It looks good, i specially like how u done the inside of it. Maybe u could have added even more detail to the wood on the outside. But it's a great piece. I wouldn't be able to do better myself. Great job mate.

Looks good but the wood is not very good painted a extra drybrush could make it much better.

I also really like the Rohan stable, though i do agree next time you should try to add some depth to the wooden parts, either through scoring the grain on the part or painting it on.Both are difficult, though will really finish the terrain.

Still,really nice work.

Cheers,
Mike.

Thanks for the reply, nice to see a new face around as well. I didn't spend that much time on the details, for I was slowly getting board of the project & had my eyes on something else. :P It was already on a deadline as well. I'll work on it next time anywhoo.

I have a question where I could get the Helm Hammer statue at Helm's Deep. I want to buy it, but don't know where to get it from. On this picture it shows it in some sort of play set. Worth an ask if anyone has it, I could trade for it.

As you see I need it for the inner circle near the keep. Just above to two mines of moria pillars that stand there at the moment.yes I will try to finish off the raised battlements too in the future. They are made, just not stuck on & painted yet. Wash having a little trouble with the steps up to it as well.

I remember my friends having a couple of those sets but since I moved I can't ask about them.
Helms Deep looks amazing though so well done.
Maybe eBay could hold the answers to your statue problem.

Yes good answer, I'll try ebay for it. I'm afraid my models still haven't arrived with the snow. :-X What I'll do is finish up some old projects, like the small round fort and maybe the church if I have time.

On an unrelated topic, I was rather happy when I got some Lord of the Rings posters for my birthday. I've only just got them up. I think they look very good (apart from my messey room) but then it is my building/painting room. Tell me what you think of them anyway.
Back to the mini related discussion, I have a squad of Rangers of Ithelian, and 9 Farmirs metal rangers done. My mini's still haven't arrived yet tho. :-X

Sorry not sure how to rotate my pictures...

Thanks for the comment. :)

Here is my latest update, I did some work on the small ruined fort. Bricked up the steps and a few places around it. It's very time consuming, but comes out great.

Nice work looks like the fort of an article at the old site. And when are you posting pictures of the finished rangers and faramir? :P

ehe yes I am just replicating it pretty much, his looked really realistic. I'll get the rangers up ASAP, it's actually a very old set I found painted in a box somewhere.

Very nice rangers.

Not sure its the pics but i'd suggest maybe applying a wash to add a litle more depth to the skin, would really finish the models off.

Cheers,
Mike.

As I said, I've been busy working on the small ruined fort. I have a question, do you think the small pillars up against the steps would work? If so I'll glue them on & shape the stones around it. It's almost finished, and then only with the floor left to do. I'll have the fort on a small hill, as in one of the articles in the library.
I also dug out my old board I was working on a while back. The bit that has been done looks pretty awful.. but if I finished it off nice it could become a real nice piece. Any idea's what I could do on the board? The paved side of the river will be ruins, like osgiliath. The other side is just going to be green opens space with the hills & tree's around. Maybe a small ruin.. but nothing big. I want to use static grass etc.. would it be ok to put grass on the powdered stuff.. or should I just start that board all over again.

Still no models yet I'm afraid, maybe tomorrow. Won't have much time to do them tomorrow. I have an art exam which will eat most of the day.
