@hero of gondor; Thanks for the compliment :D Always nice to get one.

Yep I've redone the roof, it looks A LOT better in my opinion. Did the highlights, and haven't yet done a wash. What do you think? looking better? Also I dry brushes the walls with a 'Storm Grey'

Like the roof much better now good work but I don't like the colour of the walls. I suggest making them a white color like medieval houses.

@ hero of gondor; I'll give it a go, so far I just gave it a dry brush of the equivalent of bleach bone.

Hows this brown looking? I'm not sure if it's too deep/red almost.

You've made some great progress.
And the roof looks very good. :D
About the wood, I quite like it and I don't think it's too red for as long as you ad a bit more texture with lighter and darker browns.
Looking forward to the next update. 8)

I much prefer your thatch now, but I do think the wood is a bit too reddish, as a base coat, unless you are going to shade wash it to tone it down before highlight...?
regards
Scott

The thatch is great, well done. But like Scott said the wood is a bit reddish for my liking but if it is only going to be a basecoat that's fine. Keep it up.

Cheers, yep I'll have to work on the colour of the wood. I thought it was a bit reddish. Back to the garage!

Sorry been slowing down with updates recently, been feeling pretty miserable with a bad cough. I've spent most of my time trying to get my head around these evil moulds once again. I tried using silicon stuff this time, and hopefully it'll work. It's just a quick little test at the moment, but if it works then I'll be pleased.

I hope it doesn't end out like the other one! :x

It's just a few rows of bricks from the hirst arts mould. If I can make a mould of certain bits like a window etc.. then it'll be a lot faster. Thanks yeah, got some antibiotics today, so should feel better 8)

Well it worked out pretty well, for just working on it 5 mins then yeah. I just left it for a day or two and then came back to it.
Might use this to speed up the process of bricks. I'll try making a more complicated one sometime soon.

It was just some silicon out of a tube, chucked it on and it got most of the detail. It's very good for it's very flexible, and pretty difficult to tear it or bend it out of place. I used some wood at the sides just to support it, doesn't really need it - but if I made quite a big mould it would need it.

Nothing on the stable so far I'm afraid, I can finished it off this week.

I am busy making Amon Sul, and have skim coated the whole model in plaster. Then I'll etch the brick effect in with a nail.
No dount that will be laborious and time consuming too! ;-)

Best of luck

Just found one of your old posts whilst looking for a picture, has there been any progress on this project? Would be fantastic to have a few pictures. 8)

Here is the progress on the stables at the moment, I've added 'hay' to the floor and I got the right shade of brown now. This model is for bigger figures, so the barrels and things fit perfectly (which are actually playmobile) As always comments are welcome.
