Reasoning? elven cloak, blowpipe, spear, woodland creature, and hate orc folk, along with a decent stat line, just for 7 point??!! *Shhhh*, don't tell anyone or else they will soon be everywhere.

High defence, good strength, have the option for spears, and you save points on courage, which isn't too important if you use them with a shaman or Nazgul.
Despite these advantages, I still prefer to use regular orcs for "flavour".

Well, comparing them to a wood elf, they have 2 less courage and fight, but come with elven cloaks, spears, and poisened blowpipes, all for the same price of 7 points.
If you think about it, if they can't be seen (elven cloaks) they can't be shot at and their defence dosn't come into play. Then, once within 28cm, they shower you with a bunch of blow-darts. It's like hobbits throw stones, except even deadlier. You hit the model limit with them easily just like with hobbits, but the blowpipes have a higher strength, and re-roll for poison.
Add in some mounted rohan outriders for bows and cavalry, and you've got yourself a nice little deadly force. I actually think someone took woses, outriders, and Saruman to a GT last year, or the year before, I remember reading the battle report where they get squashed by a mumak.

Yes, combined with their special rules they're alright. But their stats alone are terrible, not "decent".

Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then, especially since I think it's a little useless to look at just the stats and not the special rules; as I myself consider special rules to be part of the stats, anything that comes automatically is a stat I think.
Anyway, this is getting OT........

i agree very good but are they the best to be honest i dont think their is a best troop type. you need a bit of everything because nothing is good at everything

i am a dwarfy but i just think that uraks extra strength and the crossbows are worth it, my friend dous isenguard and when he plays his cards right he can storm throu the enemy
