I have cast all of the parts for Amon Hen and glued most of the parts together. I have to cut out a base and work on the details on the roof. I printed out a nice plan some time ago.I have followed it almost exactly. I will find the link and post it later. I am going to try to make the seeing seat from clay.I have been working on some ruined walls and some other detail parts. I am going to put together a throne room for Saron. You can see the eye window in the back ground. Suggestions are welcome.

All looks well Oldman Willow.
The eye window I feel will need something just a touch special when it comes to the paint. I am racking my head at present as you don't want streaks coming from it - that will make them look like eyelashes.
I must admit though that I am struggling !!!

Me too :!: :!:
The throne room is going to take some thought. I have some gallery glass I am going to try out. I think the Gothic blocks may look better.
I will post a photo of a smaller eye I have been working on in a day or so.
Thanks for the encouragement.

According to the Mithril web site He is King Ageleb. I can not find a reference for that spelling. King Argeleb I of Arthedain tried to reunite Arnor into one kingdom. He is the King that gave the Shire to the Hobbits. The charter is in his hand.

Image I need to look into some more Gothic dungeon molds. I think this is a better dry stack for Saron's throne room. I still have to work out a plan In my mind. Suggestions will be helpful.

I am looking forward to your post. Casting the blocks is very rewarding and frustrating too. I find I always need the another small block for a window or something. I have a lot of work to do today but I hope to get a chance to glue Amon Hen up this afternoon and take some photos.
See this link.

I have completed the casting for Amon Hen so I will begin working on the base. I like the round long columns better than the short columns. I will use those when I make the base.
This is going to be an up date for Helms Deep's Deeping Wall. I have most of the bricks cast. The Glue up will go really fast now.I built the core from scrap pine boards.I cut the pine board 4 and 1/4 inch by 8ft on the table saw. I then cut it into 8 inch sections with a cross cut saw. The board was only 3/4 wide so I had to glue the sections back to back to make them wide enough. To make the drain. I took one of the sections and drilled a 1 1/4 hole in the center and cut it in half. I had to cut the other section in half as well. You can see the spacer I had to make to make up for the cut out from the blade. I have a new mold for the towers. I will Have to cast a lot of blocks before I can begin. The next up date should be the stairs.

I have not worked out in my mind how to go about a throne room for Saron. I found a Mithril Steward of Gondor model on E bay he will need one too. Comments and suggestions will be very helpful.

It looks nice but I think you can see the difference with the walls that are first painted and that are painted after that. For the throne do you want ideas for a throne or a throne room?

All of the above :!:
It is always more fun to work with other people on a project. It always turns out better too.

I am not sure what you mean. The wall that is painted is the Games Workshop production Helms Deep.It was painted at the factory. I was going to build walls to match it. I have not painted mine yet. If you mean in the pattern of the brick work. You are correct I was not able to match it as well as I would like.

Any suggestions you would like to make will be very welcome.

The glue up is going well. The hardest thing is not trying to do too much. It really takes over night for the glue to dry. If you try to do to much the bricks will shift out of aliment.I will glue up one side of the wall one evening let it dry over night and finish the other side the next day.The battlement will need to be done on the third day.For a house do one story and let it dry before you begin the next. I build the roofs in halves and wait for the whole thing to dry before I try to install them.

If you take care and give it some thought, each piece you make should complement your terrain collection. The deeping wall matches The Games Work Shop Helm Deep model. The Necromancers shop roof will line up with The Miniature Building Authority row house. My plan is for my throne room models to complement my Dwarven Forge collection.Every thing I make will end up in a game.

I worked nights and weekends for 30 years and tied to have a life and family. Now, I have retired. All I have to do is look in on my mother while my sisters are at work.It will be easier for you to have a hobby when your kids have grown. :puppy: :kitten: :flower:
