Legolas's auto hit vs cavalry

Hey, when legolas uses his auto hit on a cavalry model, does he have to roll to see if he hits rider or mount or can he choose?

He can choose.

It specifies that it ignores int he way rolls and when shooting at cavalry, the mount is counted as in the way of the rider
