looking forward to goblin town

Thanks for the nice comment. I have not forgotten Goblin Town. I have just decided to make it in a different style.

Image

I have decided to incorporate some of the LOR Scenery builders methods and detail with Hirst Arts Blocks. I have been casting and mold making.

Image

The Styrofoam rock I made for Morria and the Dwarf realms have been recycled into Islands. I am going to use cast rock instead. I am not sure of the Rock color. Some earth color washes will help.

I am going to make trees next week the lichen should be try by then.

The stair case is gorgeous. The new rocks look a lot better than the old, though those were good as well. I'm really interested to see what you do with goblin town. Keep up the good work, you spiders and their movement trays are really good as well.

Glad to see more of your work. I like the new Goblin Town. Some pictures with goblins swarming all over it would be ace.

I have been planing to work on Goblin Town for some time now. I have been casting roads and cave parts. I am going to work on the spider bases in order to work out the overall color scheme. The road is completely modular. I will be able to use it for the sire, Moria or Goblin Town. It will line up with The Mushroom tree and foot bridge too.

Image

I plain for the road to switch back and forth through the mountains and caves. I made a set of templates and if I am careful of the measurements everything should line up like a model rail way trestle.

Image

The rope bridge and Gollums lake will be on separate parts. I am Going to make a new Moria stair to match my risers. I have thought about the Goblin King lair, but all I know so far is I am going to use the tea candles for large fires.

Image

I cut this out today. I hated to come in but I have to meet some friends for dinner.

I really like how you add roads to everything. It makes everything fit together so much better and looks fun to play on as well. You've gotten to a really good start, I can't imagine what it will look like when it is done.

Have a look at what ukfreddybear did with his uruk-hai command, link. I wouldn't completely avoid using greys like he said buy I would save it until the very last dry brushes. You may also want to ask drumtastic how he painted the rock around his helms deep. Good luck.

I have to finish the ground work on the tree. I will make a few more large back ground trees and post better photos in my Gallery.

Image

I did all I had time for. I worked it out so the components would not be to large to store and transport. I think there will be a lot of places for goblins to hop around.
Image

I hope you can see the direction I am going with this. I am not sure of some of the details yet. The stairs were an after though. The floors for the over hanging caves may change a bit. I intend to use method that rail road modelers call a shell to finish the mountain.

Image

I may make the top ledge on this side larger. It may make the tunnel work better.

I was running out of time. So I short cut and used the spray foam. The shell would have taken at least a few days. You can see the foam makes a mess and takes over night to dry. It was ready to cut and trim this morning.

Image

I trimmed it. I used plaster bandage to create a surface for the dry wall compound. The dry wall was dry when I finished cutting the grass so I added some of the rock faces.

Image

I won't bore you with any more unpainted plaster. I won't have time to do much tomorrow. I will try to work on the spiders.

Image

Image

I hope you can see where I am going with this.

Image

You may have noticed I had enough spray foam to make 4 more hobbit holes. It will turn in to 8 if I decide to cut them in half.

I would like some input. I seem to do better work when I am challenged.

Thank you. I want to make it modular enough to end up with several tables. I should be able to use parts of Goblin Town for Moria. I have already cut out a lot of component parts for Morria. I need to make sure they fit together as a whole.

Great work Oldman Willow. Is this supposed to represent the road the company was following, with goblin town to be added, or is this gobling town. If it is the former it would be neat to have a couple boulders laying around, as it is meant to be modular you might want to make a couple extra road segments where there is something blocking or partially blocking the path, to represent the rocks the giants were throwing around or some other disaster like a fallen tree or rock slide. It would add a great scenic and strategic element to the games played with this piece.

Thank you, Yes it is the road down to goblin town from The Crack of Doom. Goblin town the goblin kings throne room and Gollum's lake will be separate elements.

Great work. You've finished those pieces very well. I like how your terrain pieces look great and are also very playable. Keep up the good work, I'm looking forwards to seeing goblin town all done.
