Fantastic! They very much capture the first age dude! Those helmets especially, to me they look more...noble and fair, just like the first age elves I imagine! Keep it up!

at Agan's recommendation. They were originally just replacements for heads what were already missing, but I might end up ordering more.

Egad,

Having been distracted by some 40k stuff, I took a lengthy hiatus from LOTR. Last night however, realizing that I'd like to play the fellowship scenarios, I decided to paint The 9.

I did it using the old models for 2 reasons. First, I picked up all 9 for 30 bucks, and second, I like the anonymity they have in the books - I think having each one look radically different is a bit silly, and I don't think they had enough personality left as ring wraiths to be as distinct as GW made them.

I'd like to point out that these were the easiest models I've ever painted by the way - truly, a cross eyed monkey could paint them pretty well.

At any rate, here they are. The witch king has been given a rather large mace to make him stand out.



Sadly, I have to leave in the morning to go an an Army sponsored 3 month sabbatical, so I won't have any more to post for a while.

well they look great, and i also agree with your opinion on the wraiths. giving them such a distinction instead of the mystery surrounding them to me seems to take away from the fear they gave in the books...
