Thanks for the link to the report, it was great reading. I intend to fight the same scenario just a soon as my opponent and I have our forces fully painted - we're about 80% of the way there now. It needs large armies! I can understand why the players here took the bigger characters you are not permitted in the rulebook version of the scenario.

if you guys carefully read at the very end of the War of the ring battle report, where the two talk about the battle, Nick says something about "expanding his isengard force with new mini's on the horizon. Watch this space."

interestinggggg.

Those are most probably the Mauhur's Marauders models coming out on the 8th.

Yep

I don't think they understand the rules very well. In the first game one of them called a Heroic Charge, which doesn't exist in SBG. In the second game someone called a Heroic Combat, which doesn't exist in SBG or WotR.

A mention of Lord of the Rings on "Whats New Today?!" *jaw drops*

But overall I thought it was well done, nice of them to incorporate SBG as well. The conflict between the Rohirrim and the Dunlendings/Isengard Raiders in the Westfold has always been one of my favorite series of battles.

Oops  I usually check the dates, even when something is bumped to the top of the forum. Sorry.

Well it could be useful for people who hadn't seen this article before (like me)... I apologize for the necromancy but if it helps the community in any way I don't view it as necessarily a bad thing (commenting on random things from years back is a different matter).

See, I knew it was unbelievable for them to have done a recent LOTR focus in the What's New Today section!

Not trying to be pessimistic, but I think it's a marketing strategy to get readers to come back often (and shop).
GW does this on a lot of their battle reports/army showcases. In some Khand/Easterling article I read (not sure if it still exists), where a GW was apparently building a pure-chariot Khand army called "Chariot Madness". From pictures in the sourcebooks as well as online articles it seems like 'Eavy Metal only painted 1 Khand King in Chariot and 2 Charioteers. Coincidently, that GW staff had 3 chariots in his army as well (and they look awfully like the ones in the sourcebook!), and he claimed it to be a "work in progress" army. I'm quite confident we won't be getting another army update from him...
