The painting is very good indeed, perhaps another wash but it's fine this way.
about the mountain, perhaps painting it darker but give it more plants on it than in the movie
perhaps something like this.

Now this might have be a bit to much but it's just an idea.
looking forward to the next update. 8)

Right this is what I did today.. I didn't turn out great so i need opinions on how I can make it better.. e.g. what colors I should use, techniques etc..

Don't ask how the front went very light.. I've not a clue what happened there lol

it looks very good, but IMHO I think the walls themselves are a bit too dark compared to the mountain.

I like the way the rock turned out. I agree with sharkai, make the walls of the castle itself lighter, more grey and I think it will look better. i have no clue what you should do about the bottom front part that turned out too light though. 8)

The mountain look pretty good. It is such a shame as both parts look so good but don't fit.
What to do depends on which part you like better, the fortress or the mountain, as the two should fit in pretty well as if I am correct the fortress was carved out of the mountain and so should be similar in colour. If you like the fortress better I would suggest giving the mountain a dark grey wash and work on from there. If you like the mountain better then you will likely have to repaint most of the fortress to get the right colour.

Right I worked on the Mountain a bit today.. I've given it a brush of black, a dark dark brown almost going black & some light touches of grey. Tell me if it's looking any better or needs more work. Once i get the go ahead from you guys that it's all good I'll start added sand for texture & bushy things

So you mean not all over the whole hornburgh.. just the occasional few bricks like in cartoons? yes?

I would recommend you draw all the bricks onto the hornburg. I know how tedious it would be but it would make it look a lot better in my opinion. Since you've already drawn all the bricks on the wall not doing the hornburg would make it look somewhat out of place.

Looks good. 8) I like it. IMHO I think that the foliage could use a drybrush, but other than that its great. I wish I had the guts to take on a project this big. :yay:
