Which WD are they in? Couldn't find them in the archive, either.

The March 2010 WD has Eomer, Grimbold and Thrydan Wolfsbane.

The Sons of Eorl are in issue 353, from May 2009.

Oh yes, and just as a matter of interest. What happens if a son of eorl's horse dies?

That's exactly what I thought when they came out. I guess they didn't think about how the WOTR released models would work in SBG when WOTR came out...

It's not really a big deal, just use a converted Warrior of Rohan I guess...

Fixed it for you :)

In all seriousness, it just looks like the SBG is being swept under the rug and forgotten by GW. A real shame, since I fear many people will abandon LoTR altogether if that happens. Well, new purchases anyway. Hell, my Helmingas are going to be Gripping Beast Vikings. They look more like the Command models and are roughly the same price for twice as many! Best of all, they don't have a third of the models with bows, so they'll all be suitable!

There's the OL link to the Riders of Eorl profile (you need an account to see them if you don't have one already).

I'm thinking of using the captain from the new Rohan command boxed set for my unmounted Sons of Eorl. The captain looks very like the Sons of Eorl.

Thanks for all the help!
Sadly, I think that the SBG portion of the game is being phased out as well. I am sure that WoTR is a great, though I haven't played it yet.

WotR is, in my opinion, more fun than SBG, and probably simpler too. I don't think it's as realistic though.

Can't stand WotR :) SBG is why I'm gaming at all.

What will you do when GW no longer publishes SBG profiles for WoTR models ?
Example- I would have used Eomers' profile for Grimbold had it not been published.

Then I'll play SBG as it stands. I don't get it: why would I have to go to a different rule set just because it's not "supported"? I have about 3 years worth of painting to do, and plenty of armies and figures I've never even tried yet. I don't play tournaments, or at a GW store, just with my son, friends, etc. If they ever expand the high elves, I'll have everything I need for decades of SBG gaming pleasure :)

I agree, at this moment the rules are fine, we don't need anymore new figures or rules to make the game any better, it is good as it is. 8)

Yeah. More plastic models to replaces metal ones would be nice though...

True, but by 'new' figures I meant figures that don't have a profile now, getting metal figures in plastic isn't really 'new' figures. 8)

I've loved my SBG for going on 9 years. It's been great fun and I've met a lot of good folks both on here and at the gaming table.

I only got the WoTR book about 3 weeks ago, since I refused to pay the regular retail price. I got it for $25 Canadian. It looks to be a fun game as well, but more easily manipulated and made to be cheesy and dull.

Bottom line, Lord of The Rings miniatures will be coming out for the next year or so. Whether for SBG or WoTR I don't really care. Just today, I got the Pelennor Fields mounted Theoden model. All this time I've been playing without a mounted Theoden because I got a foot version in the Heroes of Helm's Deep box and didn't want to pay $35 to get one on horseback and a spare foot. Thanks to WoTR, I now have Theoden foot & mounted. The same thing applied to Eomer.

Basically, I'm long-windedly saying that WoTR is still good for SBG players, just in a sort of round-about way.

Neither have I. Not because I'm an SBG diehard but I just simply don't want to use all the cash on just a few formations of troops.
