I would recomend buying a box of Warriors of Minis Tirith and a captain and banner bearer blister. That should lay down foundations for you to expand your army in the future and provide you with a core force.

After you get that I would suggest a small scale hero like Faramir on foot and mounted. later you can get some knights.

No problem. After that it would be advisable to buy some knights and then some elite warriors such as: Citadel Gaurds; Gaurdians of the Fountain Court; Osgiliath Veterans and warriors from the Fiefdoms.

Once you have enough models for 1000+ points matches then it would be worthwhile getting Boromir, Captain of The White Tower. Only then is Boromir no longer a drain on points which could be spent on other warriors and he makes an excellent addition especialy with the banner.

You should get some gaurdians of the fountain court, they are excellent at defending rights of way and gaps in terrain.

Osgilaith Vets would be a better option than Dol Armoth.

Once again I agree. Don't get Dol Amroth until you have expanded your collection of Minas Tirith. I would consider another box set of WoMT and Cirion and Madril. So far it sounds like a really good start. 8)

Rangers of Middle Earth box would also be a good addition and you can paint them up to be the Rangers of Ithilen. You get more accurate shooting but less defence. Combined with a good relatively strong leader they can make a great ambushing force.

Also, take Duinhir's advice on Cirion and Mardil. Also, you should buy the Gondor In Flames sourcebook as well.

Sorry, but according to Legions, they cant align

The Army of the High King was from "the second age" of middle earth, while your army is in the "Third Age"

But i guess if you were playing with some friends and they didnt care to much about rules, you could.

well you could try your hand at converting a few into normal Womt. this way they won't just sit on the shelf until you start a 2nd age army. :)
