The bases look great man!

What I think could be sweet is if you casted them and made plastic copies if you have some extra cash... I don't know how successful it would be, but in my opinion the experimentation could be potentially very useful :)
For example... I'm currently casting a trebuchet. I don't know if it'll be worth the effort in the end (I definetely hope so though :P), but I'm learning so much just from the hands-on training ;)

Casting copyrighted bases!

I've actually never cast anything before. Don't have the stuff for it...

You don't need a lot of stuf to cast something just some silicone kit (is that the english name) and greenstuff or plaster.
If I don't use the correct word for silicone kit this is what i mean.

Looking forward to the fellowship.

My sets arrived today. Here's Lurtz, who I'm nearly finished with. Just a bit of work on the hair and the finishing touches on the bow, and he's done.

I must say I'm terrifically pleased with how he turned out. I even managed to paint his eyes, usually my bad point.

And the rest of the stuff that arrived :)

The blister is Farmer Maggot and hounds.

Thanks everyone. I must say, it's the helpful comments of the members of this site as much as the fun of painting that inspires me to keep it up. (And the cold hard cash that awaits me at the end) :-D

I'll start on Amon-Hen Aragorn later today, once I finish schoolwork. :)

Expect some updates by the end of today! 8)

Updates: (I SWEAR the minis look better in real life, especially Aragorn......I got good pictures of Lurtz, and now I can't get good pics at all. But the eyes on Aragorn will be redone, and the skin is still WIP, as well as the tunic and boots. Gimli is finished.) And apologies for the sideways pics, I would have gotten better ones but now my camera is dead......it doesn't have to have power to upload pics to the computer, though. :)

And here's Lurtz, completely finished w/base: :-D

C&C welcome :)

Thanks guys :)

I had started on Legolas a little yesterday, but TOTALLY screwed up his face so now I have to strip him and start over...... :(

However, I'll finish up Aragorn and hopefully do a metal Uruk Scout today. :D

I've also decided to keep Aragorn's eyes as is, just a lighter highlight on his skin and the skin is finished. Do you think his jerkin is fine as is, or does it need a lighter highlight? His boots are finished, they look a lot better in real life. 8)

Nice work Josh, the Lurtz looks great, but you might want to drybrush his armour again with some Chainmail 8)
