Thanks Radagastbird. I'm sure Lonely Mountain Legacies will live up to your expectations as we hope to have it finished by the end of the summer.

The painting guide just needs to be a simple step by step guide with photo's like the ones Games Workshop have on their website. If you feel up to it or you want to help out in some other way (we have quite a few scenario's you could read through and/or help create) please send me a PM.

Thanks also Agan for starting on a terrain guide! Can't wait to see it!

John

I have nearly finished the third page so I think it will be finished in two days. (I know ,I'm lazy  )

@ radagastbird thanks for the offer if you pm me with your email adress I will send the whole bunch to you.

What I have finished now are drawing in google sketch up, I've made some pictures, made an introduction, materials list and the first two steps.
(out of six or seven).

It might also be an idea to make an website for this supplement where we first can dump all the pieces until we put them together and later on make it more a real website.
(like the one of the fall of Gondolin supplement)

From what I can see we also are gonna need someone who want to make some artwork and several battle reports and playtesters. :?

If you guys want to i can put it all together in the end.
(I've still got 4 lovley weeks without school.) :D

sorry if i'm planning to much theonekoolness, your the boss :P

Edit: just finished te fourth page.(I know ,slow worker   )

I've always adored the Dwarves and have just finished repainting my Dwarf army. PM me any scenarios you want me to try out! I'm not 100% sure how many points are in the army, but thery're all metal models, and all in all I'd say I've about 30 Dwarves (with a few kings and 8 khazad guard). I decided in my head while painting the kings that one of them had to be Dwalin :L

Anything I can do to help, just let me know!

Sorry guys my computer crashed so I couldn't work on it for a while.
But the terrain guide is finished.:D
There are still a few problems with the pictures so I will try to resize them tomorow as the File is now 30 mb. :o
I have send the file without the pictures to radagastbird for proofreading.
If anyone else wants to see it just send me a pm with your email.
I also found some really good rules on the last alliance so I will edit the post with a link when I have found them again

The file is resized and has pictures. :D
I also found the rules on the last alliance. http://www.thelastalliance.com/index.php?pid=view_replies&thread_id=56971&forum_id=10&page=1
It has a lot of rules profiles and some scenario's.
They might be usefull but there is also a lot of first age and rhun stuff in it.
I haven't read the entire thing through but at least there are rules for young dain and thorin and the battle of nanduhirion.

Second edit:

I just got the proofread file back from radaastbird It now also has pictures,so it's finished. :D
If you want to I can start with something like a short history about khazad dum, the expedition and the war between the dwarves and the Orcs.

hi all
been away for a while
i've seen you're busy with the supplement, and since theonekoolnes has quit, im in charge for the supplement

so whats it about? Its about the moria expedition(you now the failing attempt of Balin to retake moria)

so what do we have?
-profiles for the new dwarfs: http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15550
-4scenario's (i'll post them in here as soon as i can)
-a new lome list of the moria expedition(i'll post it here too)
-im working on a terrain guide
-agan has made a terrain guide too(but i havent read them yet)

so what has to come yet?
-some more scenario;s linking in a campaign
-more terrain guides
-painting guides
-history of moria and the expedition
-any suggestion you have!

i'll post all the stuff in this thread so you all can review them, give feedback and testplay it

hope you like it^^

an overview what to accept from the supplement and what we're working on:

first an overview with the scenario's(what the scenario's are about)
some has to be made, some are already been made

scenarios:
1. a prologue: a small battle as introduction. a few dwarfs are attack by the forced of mirkwood or demsterwold when traveling through the woods to get to moria

2. the battle at the east gate. the dwarfs need to get inside of moria

3. battle of the first hall. just a normal battle

4. battle in the 21st hall. here's the liar of the goblin king. so he needs to be killed

5. Oin goes out to search for armories. a small battle with counters(which are the armories) you can pick up and bring back

6. battle at mirromere. baling gets shot and a lot of reinforcing dwarfs and orcs/goblins

7. battle of the second hall and the bridge of khazad dum. floi, nali and nali find death here

8 the dwarfs retreat to the throne of balin in hope to withstand them in that hall.

9. Oin tries to find a way out and when he reached the westgate: Oin plus some dwarfs versus the watcher in the water

10 Battle of mazarbul. the last stand of the dwarfs against a endless horde of goblins.

so what do you think? are these scenario's enough? if not just suggest something! the more people think and discuss about it the better(and of course these are some sort of sketches)

Terrain guides:
a wonderfull piece of aqan : Throne of Balin
im currently working on the: East Gate of Moria
If you want to make something, do it! i/we appericiate it

painting guides:
none yet

rules:
http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15550 profiles for the expedition. the tla seems to have profiles too but i havent took a look at them(cause someway i cant manage to get on the tla-site)

i cannot post the updated lome list here(because it is not allowed to post point cost)
but it contains: the new profiles, balin, dwarf captain, dwarf warriors, dwarf rangers, khazad guard

a brief history of khazaddum/moria has yet to come

what do you guys think?

if anyone of you feel the desire to create something, i say once again: go ahead!
there's so much to do^^(especially for terrain and painting guides)

any suggestion what to get more

Hi,

I thought I had made a post but I guess I am wrong. :?
So dunno where that post now is but this is what was in it.
History of khazad Dûm nearly finished I think it will be ready for proofreading tomorow(hint radagastbird hint)
Maybe change a few scenarios so that you have a campaign and a bunch of interesting scenario's like durin's last stand against the balrog and the battle of nanduhirion
(all seven dwarf houses against azog and goblins).
What about a battle report.
Now I can't playtest the rules as I am the only opponent I have at the moment :)
But I could make a paint guide for the dwarves (just choose what you want warriors, rangers, captain or khazad guard)
And maybe delete a few scenario's because they are nearly the same as the previous one or because they aren't necesseraly for the story.
I would say delete battle 5 and 9 mix 8 with seven, but this is just my oppinion.

we could also make three campaigns(all of moria)
1. awaking of the balrog and the fall of durin
2. war between dwarfs and orcs
3. attempt to reclaim moria by balin
what do you think?

good job finishing the history so soon!

a battle report sounds good, but first we need to finish the scenario;s

combining scenario 3 and 4, and combining 7 and 8 is more an option to me than deleting 5 and 9 (cause i've already made the scenarios and they are something different than the others, i quite like them:p)

you can make whatever you want! cause we dont have any painting guide yet^^

Scenario 1: Prologue; The Way through the Forest

Description:
Balin has decided to go to Moria to reclaim his ownership. Many dwarfs accompany him while they take a dangerous road of open land. The whole group went through Mirkwood because it's horror is fading(The White Council made Sauron leave). Suddenly some of the dwarfs become attacked and there's no way the others can help them because they are further on the road. Will the brave dwarfs make it?

Historical Participants:
Good:
1 Dwarf Captain
4 Dwarf Rangers with a two-handed axe
4 Dwarf Rangers with a long-bow
4 Dwarf Rangers with throwing daggers
1 Dwarf Warrior with a banner

Evil:
1 Wild Warg Chieftain
5 Wild wargs (this is because if you've bought the wargrider box, you don’t need to buy an extra wild warg chieftain)
2 Giant Spiders
1 Bat Swarm

Lay out & Starting positions:
The Battle takes place on a 56 by 56cm board. From the North to the South is the Old Forest road. The Rest of the Board is covered with trees.
Good deploys on the road in the South. Evil Deploys on the whole Northern Site
Image

Objectives:
If 0-4 Dwarfs leave the board through the Northern side Evil wins
If 5-9 Dwarfs leave the board through the Northern side it is a Draw
If 10-14 Dwarfs leave the board through the Northern side Good wins

Special rules:
Darkness of Mirkwood: Since the Darkness of Sauron isn't gone yet, the participants can only see 24cm (so ranged fire can only shoot 24cm)
Woods: The woods counts as difficult terrain expect for spiders and bat swarms

Point match:
Participants:
Good:
200 Points of The Moria Expedition List

Evil:
200 Points of the Mirkwood list

Objectives:
If less than 30% of the Good force passes, Evil wins
If 30-70% of the Good force passes, it's a draw
If more than 70% of the Good force passes, Good wins

I hope you all could give me some feedback about it and have lot of fun while testplaying it!(and remember its just a prologue so its a small battle as introduction).

The scenario looks good for as far as I can see( remember i don't play that often)
Maybe a better map but that's all I can say.
I really like the three campaign's idea but, I dunno what te others would like(maybe a pol)
I will start tommorow with the paint guide (history is send to ragastbird for proofreading) but today it was 35 degrees (celcius) and now lots of rain and hail. :o
So, first it was to hot and now it's much to wet and dark to make good pictures and paint. :(
My school books have just arived so, I will need to do something with those as well.(not selling them)
I'll try to finish the guide in the weekend.

Edit just saw that in the terrain setup from your scenario it says road from north to south but,
the only road in Mirkwood went from east to west.

i hope the others will give their opinion about the three campaigns

and good job of you making the history so fast!
take it easy on the paint guide, there's no deadline and time-pressure at all^^

I really like the 3 campaigns, it would make it easier to divide the profiles up along with individual terrain guides and what-not, great idea 8) .

I'm proofreading Aqan's history, hopefully won't take to long with school. Should be ready by next week-end.

I've just finished the paint guide (for Khazad guards) and send it to Radagastbird.
Tommorow school starts here so,I would like to do some small things but, not much
(making maps for scenario's, some photoshop (i use photopaint) artwork, simpel paint guides etc)
good luck with fixing all the big mistakes I made Radagastbird

i've read the guide too, and its great^^

here's the updated lay-out:
Image

so its decided,
part 1: durins fall by the balrog
part 2: war between dwarfs and orcs(with thorin oakenshield, just thinking of some nice rule)
part 3: Balins attempt to reclaim moria

the terrain guides and painting guides could fit anywhere in the supplement cause they're the same for the three campaigns:3

is it alright if i finish the scenario's for balins attempt first, cause i've already started with it?
