Thanks alot Gaarew, this will definately be my painting guide.

Would you be able to tell me who makes Putrid Green paint? Is there a GW alternative?

Ehm (cue doddery old codger voice) Putrid Green is (or perhaps was) a GW paint. Other than the Gold, which was Vallejo Game Color, they all were...

Any reference to Armour Wash, use Badab Black. Orc Flesh Wash substitute for Thraka Green.

The best bet would be to use Scorpion Green (GW) in place of the Putrid Green.

Here is a mini update of the Necromancer

At this early stage I have given the high parts of robes a Dark Angel's Green base. The armour has just been washed with Thraka Green and was still drying when the picture was taken.

<a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i25.tinypic.com/aww6m9.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>

Next step is a Badab black wash for the helmet and begin further highlighting on the robes.

As always comments and criticism welcome.

Another few Badab blacks and Thraka greens will give the metal some nice depth. Keep it up. 8)

I like the effect the washes are having on the metal.

Looks great! 8)

I really like the Thraka Green wash over the armor, I did a similar thing on the armor of my Barrow Wight. The green robes look promising, it'll look great once you add a few more highlights.

So, a few more washes, a few more highlights, and you'll have a great looking mini. :)

I suggest with the Helmet that you need to add a wash of Gryphonne Sepia or watered-down Bestial Brown that will give it an old, weathered look. 8)

Time for an update

I have finished the green highlighting stages, now I need to finish the armour and base, and things are done!

Here are the pics

Yes I will be basing it. There is actually very little space on the mini for basing but I will do it anyway

@Hallpers: Thanks for the comments, I am really happy with how the mini is turning out.

Although, I went back and had a look at mine, and a horrible realisation hit me...

The 'glow' from the Necromancer is being emitted from his 'body' so the green should really be concentrated on the inside of the folds on the robes, rather than on the surface area.

Hmmm, does give me an excuse to buy another one now, as I couldn't bring myself to repaint him.

Good job! 8)

The highlights on the cloak are really nice, suitabley spooky and green. I look forward to seeing the armor finished as well.
