Interesting Dark Angels!

I too am painting a successor chapter for the Dark Angels. I am doing the Angels of Redemption, I guess I should post some pics.

The only thing I would suggest for the Dark Green colour scheme would be to make the transition from dark to light green less obvious on the edges of the shoulder pads. Just a thought.

I like the last Termie, the racing type stripe on his helmet looks ace!

Keep up the good work,

KJ Necromancer

Greetings, folks.

This latest is a piece I did for my buddy Brandon’s Biel-Tan Eldar army. It’s not based because I’m not quite sure how he does his bases, so I’ll let him do that to match the rest of his army. The rune on the loincloth says “Avatar” in the Eldar language and is freehanded on there. I’m sorta pleased with the way this one turned out, but I think it probably could have been better.

I think it looks great Erunion! Granted maybe the highlights could be more subtle and less extreme in places but it's still beyond what I could paint so kudos on a great paint job. A good basing job and that'll set this one off perfectly :)

Thanks!

I know I really should work on smoothing out my highlight transitions, but since most of my painting is done for the tabletop, the extreme highlights can actually help give the miniature definition. However, I realize the subtle transitions are much better for painting contests and display.

Nicely done. I have this mini and to be honest I never dared take it on. The red is vibrant and the wraithbone makes a good contrast.

I love the contrast between the red and bone colours, it looks great.

As was said before only grumble is the highlights, but that's not to say it doesn't look amazing! Its just a different style.

Definately my favourite part about this model is the gems all over the body, they look very nice.

Keep up the good work,

KJ

Here is Griffin Lords 1st Company Land Raider Crusader "Iron Talon." Again, this is definitely a tabletop mini and not for competitions. The Griffin's head erased is free-handed, but the other markings are decals.

Looks very nice. Certainly not your typical "tabletop" quality. A piece to be proud of. Any tips or tricks to get the large plate areas to be so smooth? Did you spray paint on this?

As I posted in another thread, I recently received a copy of Space Hulk. However, I have never been a fan of the Blood Angels paint scheme (not enough contrast for all that red). But I wanted to keep all the extra insignia sculpted on the minis, so I put together the following:

Chapter Name: Emperor's Tears
Founding Chapter: Blood Angels
Founding: 23rd
Chapter Master: Unknown
Homeworld: Lachrymosa
Fortress-Monastery: Unknown
Main Colors: Tan, Red & White trim
Specialty: Assault

Background
The Emperor's Tears suffer from the same flaw that afflicts most of the other sons of Sanguinus. They excel in close-quarters fighting, and are often deployed in theatres that allow them to play to this strength, such as urban assaults, and ship-to-ship actions.

Notable Engagements
The cleansing of the genestealer-infested Space Hulk codenamed Endless Night. Terminators of the 1st Company and one of the chapter's Librarians obtained biological samples that greatly enhanced the knowledge of the genestealer genetic sequencing.

I haven't decided on a scheme for the Tyranids yet, but I'm working on that. Hopefully, I'll get to paint some of these guys soon, and we'll see how they turn out.

I look forward to some of the WIP pieces! :)
