I would have liked to see some enhanced = larger images of this sculpt to see the depth of the detail. I know we contacted you and unfortunately these were not available, however...
Its excellent work...I really like this guy and from what I 'can' see, he looks fantastic...great work Nathan, I like him alot !!!
:yay:

I agree with the mad Balrog on the pictures bit, but the article itself is ace and the mini is pretty good!

Nice one mr. Ulka!

The piccies are just a minor niggle (like balrogs really). The sculpt itself is marvellous.

Suggestions for 'enhancements': an alternate head with a helm in a sort of Norman/Viking/Saxon style, and possibly a battered shield slung over his back.

What a fan-blooming-tastic article! A compact, interesting read, superbly illustrated and explained 10/10! 8) :D You definitely have a talent that others would only hope to develop over a number of years, keep putting it to good use! Would love to see this model painted and alongside a group of his fellow comrades

I take it that this slotta base you used is a whole inch in diameter… Well I’ve done a bit of sculpting myself lately, made a small statue of some eight inches in height… or two Ent-lengths if you like. But this is artwork of a totally different dimension, Nathan. Not only have you got all the details right, but also does this miniature possess a “natural” pose that seems to bring it fully alive – pardon me, fully dead of course. My compliments!

Nice article Nathan. I found myself nodding along as you were describing each phase of the sculpting process. It's all about the layers, baby!

I'm sure the natural animated pose will look great painted up in a suitably eerie colour scheme.

I notice a couple of times you mentioned having problems getting your Pro-create to stick. Try using more White than Black in your mix and it should help.

Great stuff! I may never do any sculpting myself, but this was one of the types articles I just enjoy a lot. Having a cup of coffee, sitting back and relaxing while reading a well-written description about how a beautiful miniature was created is among the joys of life.

Brilliant article Ulka! Nicely laid out, well written, very descriptive and detailed with great quality pictures or a fantastic sculpt. Seriously, what more could you want?

Bravo on a fine article! :yay:

A wonderful sculpt! 8)

The skull is looking very good. So many details on such a small scale: the chain mail, the scabbard…

Just love it!

Smashing article Nate, and a really great mini.

Now, how do I get my hands on one?

:-D
