nah..offer to paint it for him...with a roller !

Both of these are shaping up to be superb works. Well worthy of being captured for the 'Terrain book to rule them all'.

That technique you use to carve bricks into polyfilla is just brilliant! This is looking simply stunning, the windows are so detailed, what is the thin stuff in the window made of?

Marvellous! I am thinking fuse wire, copper wire or very fine polystyrene rod for those uber-cute window frames (Dorth thinks - I just came up with a new word!) They are terrific. The rest of the ensemble is pefect but for me, those frames really add a fantastic depth of detail.

In this case, I used very thin plastic rod for the windows because I could bend it into the curves. But normally I use thin strips of cartridge paper for this job.

I wouldn't use fuse wire because it would be hard to glue into place - you'd need to use superglue, which gives you very little time to reposition the piece before it sets. Cartridge paper is better because PVA takes a little time to set.

I have been doing more to the Parlour Window each morning after work and so far this week I have only had 1 day off. But, its coming along nicely, the wall sections have been put in and painted and I have just completed the side and upper sections of the lead window. I'm just about to start the 2 windows, wont get much more done this morning before heading for bead, hopefully a pic in the next couple of days.

One of the roof supports still needs painting, but other than that, this is how it is looking so far.
Garden Wire was used for the Lead in the windows and a piece of dowel wood in a make-shift Lathe for the ornamental piece from the roof.

I am contemplating adding Polyfilla over certain parts of the wall sections and possibly adding more wood on the inner wall sections, but haven't made my mind up yet.

Yes Sean, I have some clear plastic to add to the back, however, when I do this, I doubt the camera will pick it up other than a 'flare' if I use the flash. :?

Looking really nice Brian. Very nice indeed. The detailing on the leadlight came out excellently.

I have an update too, but I think I'll wait a few days and not steal your limelight.

Brilliant work on the window, I can't find anything to moan at, except for that big thumb spoiling the view. The lead wire looks really effective and the paintjob is marvellous!

Can't wait to see more :D

DB - excellent. Great manicure on the thumb!

Bag End (WIP) looks uber-sweet.

I won't tell you what to do, as you have a better idea of what you're planning than I have, but I would like to suggest that this looks magnificent without any more work.
