Oh that's just great. As if I don't see enough of the stuff doing my day job you guys pull this!

It is a good theme though, all joking aside. I'm sure I can think of something.

I have had an idea for about two years now to do something "fire-related"... maybe this time I should really make work of it!
Looking forward to april arleady... however.. first I'm looking forward to a week off between X-man and New Year!
:)

X-man? Xmas? X-Box?

Time seems to be rolling on very quickly now - only 73 days to go. No nights, just days. :-)

If we mentioned nights, DurinsBane would assume he was being discriminated agains (since he works nights).

I have an idea for something. I just need to schedule in some time to do it!
I do have a couple of rule questions (which are probably posted elsewhere but I'm far too lazy to look them up!)

1) Can the same piece used for the Sculpt/conversion open be entered into the Master craftsman or do they need to be two different pieces?

2) Can I enter a model which I intend selling through my own business, or would that be considered inappropriate?

1) The rule is as follows...

Quote:
8. A discrete piece of work must be entered for each category you decide to enter e.g. you cannot use a miniature you have entered as a Painted Miniature and then also include it as part of a Diorama. Also an entry placed First, Second or Third in a given category is not eligible to be entered in future One Ring competitions. This is to encourage new work to be created for the One Ring Awards.

2) If you have created an item and provided it doesn't go against the general
rules about entry or specific category rules then I see no reason why it
cannot be entered.

It's worth everybody trying to understand the rules and not be lazy ;-) since it makes our job much easier and you won't be disappointed later. Please note that we will be much more rigorous on Work in Progress pictures being available next time and may well ask for them if we feel there is a need to, so it's worth taking pictures as you go.

Skully, shooting at fire won't get you anywhere! If the fire's causing a problem, I suggest throwing a bucket of water on it.

What is the cut off time for entries? I know they start March 1st, but what is the latest that an entry can be submitted before the voting begins in April?

Daggy usually sets the system to default to midnight at the end of the month but I'm not sure what time zone. Last time we gave a bit longer due to the rules still being tweaked I seem to remember. I guess it will be midnight 31st March, for voting to commence on April 1st. People have had all the time since the theme was announced to get ready so they have been given plenty of time.

This is true. It says the current theme is 'Production in Middle Earth' but it should now read 'The current theme is FIRE!'.
