Hey all

My opponent lives to take the Witch King on a Fell Beast. I have a Moranian Orc list with Gothmog. I have no shooting, so any ideas how I can take him down??

Moved to the tactics section because it is more of a tactics question than list construction.

As to the question, have you considered an unnamed nazgul, a cheap one, to try to drain will from the Witchking in resisting spells?

How have your games been going and what sort of army does your opponent run?

Here is my list. My friend likes to play Witch King on Fellbeast, two trolls and a couple of units of Orcs. Even if I beat the Witch King, he spends might to bring his die rolls up and I can't beat him.

Help?? You think a Nasgul on foot would help?

protect your captain from first charge with some orcs, then heroic move (use as much as you can gothmog to counter his) on to him with a lot of orcs (use fury to pass the courage test) so as to he has only three attacks, repeat (If you can bring the troll or gothmog heroic strike it's even better), repeat, repeat. Once he is out of might, he is dead.

Well, wraiths die if they run out of will so if you had another caster you could just throw transfix at the Witch King. He would either have to spend will to resist, thus reducing his own store, or spend a turn not doing anything. That was my thinking, however, I'd say that possibly either Gothmog or the troll chieftain have a good shot at killing the Witch King outright if they win a combat and it has good odds of that with its higher fight. A troll chieftain rending would kill on 3+ so that is pretty good. I would try to use heroic combat/barge to get the chieftain into the Witch King.

A swarm of goblins killed my WK on Fellbeast once. I just could not win the fights with my Might burned out.

Hurl is nerfed, so Fell Beasts are less scarey. Win that next Heroic Move and swarm him. A hero or two with Heroic Strike will eat away that Might. A budget Nazgul will help and can lead. Consider two budget Nazguls leading. They can give his trolls a headache as well.
