Stunning work. So many clever touches and so much to look at. I imagine 2017 will have to up it a notch... Smaug emerging from the molten gold? :)

I like the way the Cork turned out on the Necromancer display. The roots and vines were also outstanding. I have been obsessing over the triangular steps for my model.
The Wedding decoration is also beautiful work. You guys are going to force me to learn CAD and start up 3D printing! Very nicely done!
I don't think I need to say the sculpts and painting are top notch.

Is the Bridge available or was it one of a kind?

Those are some truly breath-taking pieces DMS. As a finalist you rank among the greatest painters in the world! :yay: I especially like the beautiful diorama in the vase.

I have to say, sometimes I thought your bases eclipsed the minis on display, rather than compliment them (good and all as the painting was) but that azog v thorin is one of the best I can remember. Loads of drama and action in it, and the minis themselves are the focal point. superb!

Well done on the finalist pins Kev, never an easy task getting to that level and to have this recognised will do Shadow and Flame no harm at all.
I hope to join you there next year as I'm looking to focus on some competition pieces soon.

If you don't win, I'll want to know why?

You have an amazing talent, my friend. Best of luck.

Your work never ceases to amaze me. I am in no position to give any constructive feedback and I can't. I know what I like and I have to say that the Azog/Thorin dual piece is my favourite ever single piece of work I have seen anywhere. Not sure why but I think it's because it captures the feel of the scene perfectly. Well done and congratulations for the finalist pins. Fantastic, take a bow :yay:

Lovely comments guys, thank you :-)

Next up was a very quick inbetween larger projects job. A couple of Mirkwood Spiders painted straight from the box art at clients request. I did start to paint a spider for myself alongside these but other work pressing and had to call time on it for now. Stay tuned as I'll finish it at some point.

More pictures on the website Shadow & Flame

Hope you like them... disgusting tho they are lol!

As usual your minis look great! I am also impressed by the simplicity and crispness of your bases. Can I get a brief rundown on your process? Is it the GW texture paint? Do you apply it with a brush?

Too much or too little paint on a drybrush can have a negative effect making it look streaky or chalky.

Amy hates these, too realistic for her which is a compliment to the paint job of course ;)
