Great work Dave, look the part if you know what i mean. The two new Tree Giants and an Iron Hills Dwarf conversion kit sound really interesting, look forward to seeing them.

Bloody marvellous!
What do we want? More banners! When do we want them? NOW!

Are these banners going to have the immortal words 'Down With This Sort of Thing' and 'Careful Now' on them? :)

Okay, as it appears the chance of us getting any new dwarves from GW grows exponentially smaller each day, I've come up with a fix to get some Iron Hills dwarves onto the tabletop. The dwarf upgrade sprue. . .

Image

It might not look like much but if you combine it with a box of plastic Grimhammers you can get quite nice results . . .

Image

The above conversions were done without the need for any greenstuff. Just a knife, glue and micro drill bit. I will be posting up a youtube vid on how to go about it next week. The sprues will be available next month from Shadowandflame.co.uk for you to upgrade your own minis although the price has yet to be determined. Hopefully GW might notice a spike in Grimhammer sales. :)

^Wow what a neat upgrade! But I will still hold out against all hope that there will be new BotFA releases this coming winter as doubtful it may seem. But yeah, will consider getting this as an alternative.

On a second note, your Stone Giant is Oop?

What Stone Giant? Do you mean the Mountain Giant from the webstore?

Aw, okay you've brought it back but is sold out. I remember visiting S&F long before and it wasn't even there. Good to know.

Yeah I canned it from MBM but Kev persuaded me to bring it back for S&F.

You should see if you can sell a bunch to the GBHL for resale in the states during there NovaOpen trip. I'd buy some (I don't even own grim hammers mind you) but I don't trust transatlantic shipping.

I wouldn't worry about the shipping. Between the amount of work Dave does for me and the amount of underground music I buy from Europe I have a steady stream of parcels arriving here in the US. Never had a problem.

Hmmm This could actually convince me to purchase some hobbit miniatures.... You selling these in packs of 10 to convert a full squad then? Or individually? And you decided on a price yet dave?

Really cool idea. I would have preferred to have the individual pieces on separate sprues. That way I could just get some shields or just the spears.
Great job as always Dave. Look forward to seeing some more conversion sets possibly in the future.

Great work Dave, I love this upgrade kit, even though I don't paint anymore I think I just have to get a troup of erebor dwarves. I am astonnished how clever your upgrade kits always are, especially only doing the top of the helmet is ingenious, great results with minimal conversion work. Plus you keep the variety of the faces and beards of the grimhammers. Really clever, and the weapons are well done as well, I keep struggling to sculpt a good weapon. 8)

Mounted Ranger of the North conversion. I carefully cut away the entire cloak, rotated the raised arm and head, spread the legs and then just filled out the bits that had been tampered with
